The story was as promised. Well written and no typos. It was a success story of someone pulling themselves up and being grateful, not entitled. The follow up at the end rounded out the story nicely.

You are taking to prose like a fish to water!
In the ideal world, we would all be caretakers to one another. This was a strong under-pinning of your story.
In truth, Kathy came to you as a caretaker. In fact, you were as helpful to her and her fiance' as any agency or social worker might have been! All of the support she gave you was returned two fold!
(You have a heart like that!)
What serendipity that put you in one another's path!
You went the extra mile, Jesse. Searching for a place for them, helping find that hand UP so desperately needed!
I see others read before me and offered fine editorial suggestions. (What a fellowship of writers have recognized your work!)
No one coming upon this write would ever guess it is only your second foray into prose.
Very impressive!

"like a fish to water," that is high praise if ever I heard it. And yes, I did go the extra mile, but it was worth it. I got a great caregiver and a role model with wonderful ethics and tenacity. She was able and more than willing to do hard work and thus, she will always be able to find work of some sort. I appreciate all your kind comments and encouragement, as always.
Have a lovely Sunday, my friend,
Jesse

I get a lot of pleasure and support from Fan Story lately. My fans and my friends are important to me. It feels good to do well at prose as well as poetry. I value your opinion highly as I value Ramas.
Have a wonderful upcoming week, my friend.

What a lovely story, Jesse. It just goes to show that it can be done if you want something bad enough. You played a big part in their lives and believed in them. I sure that couple will go a long way. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you, Sandra, for the kind words and supportive review. I helped Kathy, and she helped me. That's the way all relationships should be, in my opinion.
Have a pleasant Sunday,
Jesse

Jesse,
This is a super story and great example. Far too often, to be perfectly frank, it seems the few people I run into where I am seem to be happy in that state. No responsibilities or cares. Just the next meal. It took me a long time to get that. I hope that it not the norm. Thank you!

Thank you, Robyn, for taking the time and effort to review this post. Yes, I would have to agree, that some of them want a handout. Just some loose change or a meal, but some want a hand up and out of their plight. I happen to meet and get to know, one of the latter. Kathy and I, we're very fortunate, to be in each other's lives.
Thank you for sharing your point of view and for the excellent review and rating.
Have a nice Sunday,
Jesse

Jesse:
This is a wonderful story of people working together to help others. Kathy's story is truly an inspirational one that shows that people can beat homelessness if someone would just be willing to give them the sources they need to get there. Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes, Kathy's story is truly inspirational. It took hard work and the willingness to do it that stood out to me about Kathy. Sources help but, a person needs a hand up rather than a handout.
Thank you for this excellent review and rating.
Have a nice evening,
Jesse

It's so nice of you to give recognition to someone who managed to turn her life around through hard work and determination. Your kind landlord helped too. I'm not sure, though how and why she came to work for you.
Well written, but a little more detail would make it more interesting.

Thank you, Judy, for this kind and thoughtful review. Yes, the landlord helped as well. The was a sense about Kathy that she was honest, hard-working, and trustworthy. So, we all took a chance with her, and it paid off well.
Thank you for your suggestion of more details. I actually trimmed down the story some due to the reviewer's suggestions before yours, so I will take yours under advisement and perhaps add more details.
Have a pleasant evening,
Jesse

Homelessness is not a happy thought for anybody. When reading your story, you also helped the lady, Kathy, by giving her a home, and giving her much to consider as a caregiver.

Yes, Rosemary, Kathy, and I helped each other. I needed a caregiver, and she needed help and a hand up. It was a win-win situation!
Have a nice day,

A heartwarming tale of compassion and persistence. Kathy's story is truly an inspirational one. I appreciated that you were able to paint such a clear picture, without to much lengthy prose. The story is just the right length and conveys its purpose, effectively.
