What a great story! Yes, these days too many jump to conclusions about any given situation. Although the evil of many police officers are coming to light, we have to remember that there are many good ones too. So glad that Peter learned this.

Hello again!
Peter is bigoted against the police, whom he unjustly accuses of profiling. He wasn't in the least contrite; after the police chief left he resumed his rant. Mary blasted him--they got into a shouting match.

Sad to learn that, but not surprised. It?s a slippery slope for police these days, seen guilty by association.

I guess you can't judge a cop by his uniform. I bet that made Peter feel a little foolish. It's not a good idea to shoot off your mouth too quickly. It will get you in trouble every time.

What a sweet gesture on the police officer's part. Great example to show that not all police officers live up to the "dirty cop" image. Wonder what there was in Pete's background to assume that the police were harassing. I'm surprised there were only three people with Black Lives Matter signs. Maybe they were taking a break. Excellent information about the food distribution but just enough to lead into your focus on the police. judi

-Good artwork and story, Liz.
-I enjoyed reading it.
-Good description in the beginning
about the project for feeding the needy.
-It is a worthwhile cause.
-Peter's comment illustrates
your point very well, along
with the ending.
-Well done.

There's nothing left to add to what you just wrote.
Do people really believe that their next door neighbors who happen to be police officers wake up each morning and say to themselves, "Gee, what can I do today to make everyone's life miserable?"
Personable Peter should strongly hope that he never needs the help of a police officer; he doesn't deserve it.

Hey there! I have made a point of never discussing anything at work that I know will devolve into a shouting match. At home, all bets are off! LOL

Isn't that so nice, just because someone is part of an unpopular group doesn't mean they are bad people, I feel for them, they are just as varied in nature as any group, I'll bet that bloke had a red face, well done .Liz, by the way, your help is so valuable, blessings Roy

All said and done, I support and admire the law enforcement agencies for risking their lives every day for our safety and freedom. Of late they have become the fav whipping boys of the public. In every country. There are always some bad people wearing a uniform. It is ironic that instead of feeling safe at the sight of policemen, more often than not, we tremble in fear! I enjoyed reading this interesting incident. Nice finish!

Liz,
Grrrr.... growly, growly, growly...
Some people, I swear, are not capable of a single original thought. They are spoonfed every emotion, nuance, eye-blink, and speculation or rumination.
Good grief. How did he look with the spaghetti running down his face?
Thank you!

I bet you were quaking a bit for a minute, even so. Now is not the time to risk antagonizing the forces of law and order, it would seem to me.

Hello Liz.
It's a shame that there are people in the country that have an attitude about police like that. Where police have been stifled by defunding and other techniques, crime rates are soaring. I've met several those people here. New York is planning to cancel liability insurance for cops. They won't cancel it for politicians.
