NY governor says sorry if people felt uncomfortable15 total reviews

I wrote a whole review (scathing!)-- SO tired of Cuomo's "take three" new and not improved attempt at seeming contrite. When I hit "save" it disappeared! Do you think the NY gov has his goons monitoring me? I hit my breaking point when he did his paraphrased Bill Clinton impresario! "I never inapproriately touched anyone."--(cue the quivering chin and repeat.)-- His " man-'splaining ain't working! Great write. I am going to hit save now...if you don't hear from me you KNOW who's responsible!---Karenina

He thinks "inappropriate" applies just to tits and twats.
Protect yours from the Goon Squad.

Oh, what more can be said? Is there no end to this sh..? He seemed like a decent guy, but he's a Guy! I suppose we women need to take care of business at the time it happens, instead of being scared, embarrassed, etc.
One of my co-workers called me "Toughy" because I threatened him when he tried something...at least it kept him at bay.
Nice job.

I had a colleague like that--I turned the tables by telling the others that he was a pervert--he was soooo insulted!
Thanks for weighing in so articulately--The women had gone public--I'd think the women would have wanted him to apologize personally.

Turning the tables is an effective defense! and yes, maybe he should have called them and personally apologized.

I think he just doesn't know what causing offense means. Many people don't, because it is such subjective territory. Perception is tricky. Perhaps he thought it might cause the 2 women more offense by publicly naming them and thus bringing more attention to them. Perhaps that is what they want and are offended that he didn't name them.
"He'd made salacious queries and suggestive remarks, which they'd construed as sexual overtures." I do not know what happened because i wasn't there, but in my opinion sometimes these sort of comments do not constitute "harassment". Context is crucial. The governor said in his statement: "At work sometimes I am being playful and make jokes that I think are funny... I mean no offense and only attempt to add some levity and banter to what is a very serious business." Sounds like he is trying to justify himself to downgrade the gravity, which he may truly believe, but young women are smart and are wise to power-tripping sexual predators.

We can forgive him when he gives back the Emmy, donated the proceeds from his "book, and leaves town. There comes a point when apologies mean nothing.

Thanks...

You're right. If he's only apologizing to his constituents, then it's not a real apology. New York politics is a rough arena and so is Texas. But I have yet to find any politician who is genuinely repentant and actually changes his behavior after he was caught.
