It should be Grant who is the bad one with a mother like that, but it seems Colin got away with whatever he wanted. Another great chapter, looking forward to the next.

I know. But he had a loving Grandfather, so he came off better. Colin was spoilt, and came off worst. Thank you, my friend, for all your support. Sending you a hug. :)) Sandra xxx

So I read this yesterday but I had to wait til today to review so I could have a new set of 6 stars! I have one question about an English phrase. When Jeff asks for Reg's keys Reg says damned cheek! Is that like well I'll be damned? Like he realizes Jeff has a crush on Monica? I think we say Don't play innocent with me instead of don't come the innocent with me as Grant's bitch of a mother says. And she is a bitch. I have no respect for a mother who can leave their child for selfish reasons. This is a silly question, but is Valentine's Day celebrated there like here? A big day for the card and floral industries LOL. Have a lovely week Sandra! Sally

Hi Sally, what a lovely lady you are! Thank you so much for that shiny six star. That part you mentioned, 'Damned cheek?' in this case it's said in fun because Jeff had just expected Reg to hand over his car keys. In other cases you could say it in anger, as in, 'you've got a damned cheek coming in here after what you did!' It's all in the tone, and situation. The expression, 'well I'll be damned!' is more or less the same reason you have expressed it. Someone suddenly realising something nice that he'd not seen coming.
Yes, Valentine's Day is celebrated here, and around the world. And you have described it well, a big day for the card industries and florests. Lol. In fact, Valentine's Day is named after Saint Valentine, a Catholic priest who lived in Rome in the 3rd Century. There are loads of fascinating stories about him.
Thank you again, my lovely friend, have a wonderful day and stay safe! Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

Hi sandra, This is a wonderful chapter and new things emerge all the time. Now Grant at last has got a bit more background to go on, and that his mother is as bad as Colin comes at no surprise. She's made her bed, as the saying goes, and now she will have to lie in it. Can't wait for what's next.
So very well written. A big hug, Ulla xxx

Aw, thank you so much, Ulla, I really appreciate your wonderful review. The six stars are a bonus. There is a bit more to come about Grant and Colin. As for Grant's mother, she chose another man over her own son, that shows what sort of woman she is. Thank you, my friend, I'm so pleased you enjoyed this part. Sending you a warm hug. :)) Sandra xx

Whoa Nellie! This was a powerful chapter full of great writing. I enjoyed it all, every juicy piece. I agree with Grant, his mother was, and is, in name only, not fit for him. I hope her eyes open before it's too late. I look forward to the next chapter.
Superb, dear Sandra! Sending you my best today as always,

Aww, thank you so much, Sal, you have made my day! What a lovely review. I think Grant's mother has hurt Grant too much now, his heart won't take any more rejections. So, we need someone to heal that heart of his! Sending you a humongous hug, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Wow, that continuation chapter had a serving of spice thrown into it, Sandra. The whole chapter was full of anger, despair, and a definitely hint of hatred. It was very well put together with Grant following the ambulance to the hospital deep within his thoughts and his conversation with his Grandfather. Once there, his verbal response to the police was domineering to say the least and then his mother showed up before he could call Monica. He certainly put her in her place, wow, that was amazing. Very well done and enjoyed. Hugs, smiles and Blessings.

Well Sandra, what can I say? A chapter full of surprises. Very well written, a good revealing and informative flashback ten years. A turnup for the book, Grant abandoned by his mother and Colin her precious one. These things happen. It seems, Colin is on some drug or other - it will be interesting to see what his problem is, apart that is from the ones we know about LOL!
I can see romance in the future - I saw it when Tania first got splashed by Grant's car a the start of the story - it was a great start to your story and it is progressing that way I'm sure - no I men I hope. Well, despite the pain you have gone through recently, it has not affected your inspiration or fingers movements LOL. A great chapter well done - found no faults at all. Love and best wishes Dorothy xxx

You have a crystle ball in front of you, Dorothy!! LOL. Things will be changing now, and Grant will be playing a different role. Thank you so much for that lovely sixth star, my friend, and this lovely review. It really means a lot to me.
The shingles are easing, at last. A few are hanging around, but I can cope with those. My writing takes my mind off them, so it's all good. :)) Now we move on to the next part of the story. I think you will like whats coming soon. Warm hugs, my friend, and lots of love. Sandra xxx

-You didn't disappoint with this one, Sandra.
-The pieces are beginning to fall into place.
-Grant's grandfather sounds like a very nice man
who took care of his grandson, and raised him right.
-The backstory about his mother is quite something.
-It is obvious she has no love loss for her own son.
-What a decision she made when Colin's father
came into her life.
-The ending section between Grant and his
estranged mother is done very well, and shows
her true colors.
-How sad that she can't see things for what
they really are.
-I will be glad when Grant can finally see Tania,
and Monica can be updated, too.
-Well done, my friend.

Thank you so very much, Pam, for the fabulous six stars, and wonderful review. You always make my day with your comments. Be sure to read next weeks part when Grant sees Tania again. He's feeling pretty guilty at the moment. :)) Thank you, my friend. Have a lovely day. Lots of warm hugs. I know it a bit chilly around your area. LOL. :)) Sandra xxx

What...a peach, that is not a mother, poor Grant playing Cinderella because his mom abandoned him as a baby. His granddad raised a good and nobleman. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

Thank you, Iza, for another lovely review. Now we get to learn more of why Grant acted the way he did. There is a lot of hurt inside that man. Perhaps a good woman can help him???? I'm glad you enjoyed this part, my friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

Your story has progressed quite a lot, since I've last read a chapter or two. I'm impressed with how you've developed your plot, but still a little confused, because I missed so much along the way. Possibly, I will go back and read some of what I missed. You appear to be doing an excellent job with this novel!

Thank you so much, Mary, for those lovely stars, and the fabulous review. Yes, I'm amazed at how the readers have responded to my book, they have a love and hate relationship with the different characters. It's really lovely. I've never written this type of novel before. I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading it. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Wow, I'm so glad to hear that! Readers want to be emotionally engaged, with a good novel. I imagine a little escapism is very popular during these difficult times. I certainly enjoy the novels I'm reading. Congratulations on coming so far with it, and may God continue to bless you in your writing and your life! Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Oh I am so happy to see that woman spoken to like that.Imagine ! 'must have forgotten to take the tablets."! Now she is trying to make him an unstable person to avoid police action. Grant's past is very touching..

Thank you, Sanku, for another lovely review. Yes, this 'lady' isn't very nice, but she will try her best to keep Colin out of prison. We'll see what happens. She has hurt Grant a lot. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this part. Warm hugs, my friend. Sandra xxx
