Hope, I think is something we all strive to have and keep. Love the expression Walt Disney shared with the world. An old WW3 combat soldier Walt whistled while he worked. I find no fault with your nice write..

That beautiful kingfisher would never doubt that he can catch enough fish to survive on. He just dives and hopes for the best. That is all we can do. Hope that the next day we will have an opportunity to do even better. That is how we survive...
I am sorry I hit the wrong button! I have poor eyes and arthritic fingers. I should be more careful in the future. I have revised the rating. Again, my sincerest apologies...

Thank you, June, for your review. I am glad you liked the artwork anyway. Even if you didn't like my work.
Have a pleasant evening,
Jesse

I have revised the rating. It was a mistake! I don't bother to review poems I do not enjoy. I do enjoy yours - they are inspiring.

Thank you so much, June, for revising the rating. I saw no critique, so I couldn't figure it out. I appreciate you changing it. I have poor eyesight too so, I can relate. No hard feelings, June, honest!
Take care and have a wonderful evening!

I believe in karma... I like the following paragraph, "In the past 24 hours, I have regained and recovered
resilience, perseverance, and an undying commitment
to better myself, with the added bonus of giving to others." This is encouraging if people can better themselves and perform good deed to help others.
Thanks for sharing.

I, also, believe in Karma, and maybe, you'll get lucky with your contest, who knows?
Thanks for putting in the time and effort to read and review my work. I like that you feel encouraged by this and hope that you will help others, as it helps us to feel better about ourselves, in the long run, as well as the short one. Thank you for your kind comments and your excellent rating.
Have a good evening,
Jesse

This is an encouraging poem of hope! I love your last line and hope that I can always do the same: "Never have I doubted that I would hold onto hope." Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Susan, for taking the time and effort to read and review my poem. I am glad you chose your favorite line, and I am happy that it is the last line of the piece. I always like to begin strong and end even stronger, when I write my poetry. Thank you for your kind comments. Have a great evening!

I like your first stanza. It's really what's happening inside that helps us deal with the outside. Only we can keep hope alive that our place in the world will get better.

Thank you, Susan, for taking the time and giving the effort to read and review my poem. I am happy the first stanza stood out for you as something you liked.
Keeping hope and faith alive is the only way we will survive the many changes we are going through. And doing this will help the world be a better place to live.
Thanks again for the excellent review and rating.
Take care,
Jesse

A piece that explores the result of self-examination and realignment with the principles of hope and perseverance. Thank you for sharing. Nicely presented.

Thank you, Sharon, for reviewing my work. I appreciate you taking the effort, to read and consider, perhaps ponder, what my poem means to you. Whether you share what you think, doesn't matter, it is just that I hope that it encouraged you, to think. Thanks again for the excellent rating and review.
Have a great day,
Jesse
Comment from Kerry L Batchelder
I love this! The simplicity of the background compliments the sincerity of the words. Very true. Inner peace and happiness comes only from within. Nothing in this world can take away what we have inside. When we suffer within many times just helping another person can bring the peace we so often lack. Excellent!

Thanks, Jan. I find that my best work encourages others to ponder and wonder about themselves, others, and just life in general. Thank you for this positive review, with a bonus of a 5-star review!

Comment from Wendy G
Hope is as essential to the human spirit as oxygen is to life. What courage - an undying commitment to better yourself, holding firmly to resilience and perseverance. Your commitment to giving to others is something which the whole world needs more of. Excellent writing, thoughtful, and thought-provoking. Thank you for sharing this.

Hello Wendy.
I am so glad you liked my poem and saw the courage I had to write these things. It was cathartic to write and now I am putting together a small booklet of some of my favorite poems I have posted.
You are my first review since I posted my complete book. It feels good to have a friend send it off in this way. Thanks for the support and kind comments. Have a beautiful day!

What a beautiful image you selected for your wonderfully
descriptive poem about your belief in hope. I love how you regained and recovered resilience, perseverance, and an undying commitment
to better yourself, with the added bonus of giving to others. You are so correct when you say that you turn inward to yourself and have always held on to hope. I have found that in giving to others I have received a bonus as well.
Thank you so much for sharing your insightful poem.
