A thoughtful and intelligent approach.
Adventure and fantasy seemed must appropriate with a phrase beginning with, 'I believe..." As if to affirm one's belief or disbelief!
The intro dialogue set an exciting pace for a mission I felt apart of from the beginning and as a reader, along with captain Matir would see it through to the end.
Autumn morning skies provide a time and setting and place, Lannister's castle.
The king captain and men were introduced with minimal character features, which I wanted to see more of, although I believe it would have spoiled the vivid ending...for example, if the King and army were depicted and bloodthirsty angry savages in the hunt for the meat of mystical beast. Lol!...versus a noble and tranquil spirit who only desired to honor and protect something so inimitable.
The surprising twist at the end was priceless, as ine would expect such a mythological creature would be a treasure to adore and secure, yet it would be meat on the king's plate. This reveals the obvious, the unicorn was alive and secure before being stolen and carried.
Perhaps unicorn meat grants immortality for the one/s who consumes it?

Wow. Thank you for the awesome review, Stephen. The king just wanted to feast on the delicacy of the last unicorn. He wasn't looking for mortality. lol I would have added more character depth but I was getting close to the word count limit so I just kept it minimal. I really appreciate the fantastic review and generous stars, friend. I'm glad you like my twisted little tale. I hope you have yourself a great weekend and thanks again.
