Nicely done Anupam. Yes, I see what you mean, life is a vexing thing at times. It is often disappointing if one tries to live it perfectly. I find it best to live the best I can while trusting in a perfect God to see me through the daily grind.

A nice piece of poetry, the image sets the tone .
The cocoon being our Childhood and memories is a truth.
All the best for your future poetry.

Even without your extensive author notes, this poem would make perfect sense! You have hit the syllable count exactly, you'd be surprised how many don't put 5-7-5 into effect...
Wishing you luck in the contest, Anupam.

So very true. Life to some is a puzzle and to others opportunity. It seems your poem describes the holding of one for the moment. This is a good poem which makes one think. .

Ahh so true . So innocent and carefree as children ..can't wait to leave home...then exposed to the world at the age of 18 ...reality is a shocker .
at first we run back seeking the cocoon again . perhaps we learned strength afterall while cocooned.
moved by this piece . reminds me that we are all connected . we all have the same temporal needs .

The image works well with this poem, as it conjures thoughts of that childlike wonder and innocence. I like the break between the 2nd and 3rd line and the fun little "rhyme" between "moon" and "cocoon".
"not out of cocoon" is a clever metaphor for the "cocoon" of childhood when a person is still shielded from some of the harsh realities of the world. Thank you for sharing.

You have presented a deep profound message in brevity.
An appropriate picture selection as well to add imagery.
A worthy contest entry.

This was well written. It is true in life we metamorphis into many different things in life. We have to take many different paths. The hope is that one day we are as beautiful as the butterfly. Great job!
