This is a beautiful poem packed with a lot of truth. I love the message and heart portrayed about helping the homeless or needy. This is very well done and is a day brightener. Keep up the good work.

The sad part of this is it is true way to often in our nation.
We had a generation that has been blessed to have their own phones at 8 yrs old, and computers, and Iphones and Ipads, x-boxes, expensive items, hundred dollar tennis shoes and the list goes on. And then there are those that don't have. We got a call around 6 p.m. last night. A mother of four, 9 years old to five had just experienced watching their dad beat their mother up and pull a gun and hold it to her head. As soon as he left she got in her car and went to her sisters with just the clothes they had on their back. Oh, and the mother is pregnant again. All year long I shop the kids clearance toy aisles. I get $15 stuff for $3, or $5 stuff for 75 cents, etc. So I had to big boxes of stuff. We were able to get the kids a really nice Christmas together in and hour. i even had two outfits with match bows i made that would fit the six year old little girl. After Christmas we'll get together whatever else they need. These children weren't picky, they will be happy with whatever they are given. it made my day. God had placed the right things on sale all year and the stuff was perfect for the family that came our way. We'll keep track of them and see to their needs after Christmas. They're okay with their aunt right now, or I'm praying this nut doesn't show up at her house with a gun. God is good. God loves you and so do we. merry Christmas

So I walked down the alley, my cart all abrim
And thought to myself, let's get rid of him
But my alter complained. It said he was cool
He's trying to be you. You stupid old fool.
So I hummed and I hawed and I saw at the last
The cheeky young fool at the breaach at the brast.
I'll help you old friend, As you helped me
The service you did, right back at thee.
Sorry, Rightbackatya.
I thought you were the guy with the knife.
My reflections on wha your poem inspired

Wonderful work. I am not big in xmas sentimentality but love your fun and exuberant poem. Does deal nicely in the pleasure of giving in a skillful poetic style. Merry Xmas. No need to fool with it but it could use a little pruning of unnecessary word seg The stuff we tossed without thought. don

Comment from Gungalo
Great parodied write Brooke and it really was so true.
His words how they touched me. They couldn't be truer,
till somehow my troubles seemed smaller and fewer.
I no longer cared if our sweaters seemed tasteful
and shuddered to think of our ways oh so wasteful.
Such a wonderful way to share with those who got nothing at all.
