Hey, this is really cool. Great rhymes that really give a sense of the bump in the night. I liked how you repeated Ghoulkies grumble, goblins growl in the first and last stanza. Keeps them in your mind as sense the their unnerving pressence. good stuff there, Brooke.

Lots of moanin' and groanin' going on here. (Smile)
I enjoyed your well written rhyme full of imagery and imaginary sounds.
The added trochaic meter makes it a real keeper.

Grumbling ghoulies and groaning ghosties
Hope they turn on one another
Or go, and cry to their mother
As you know, Halloween is my least favorite holiday but many enjoy the fiendish season. Loved all the rhymes and alliteration and all that other stuff you put in there, Buck

Buck, it is Sawyer's mommy's favorite holiday, so I always celebrate it in poetry :-) Thanks so much, my friend. Brooke

Whoa! This is loaded with alliteration and assonance which gives it a nice Halloween feel. Nice warning to the ghouls and goblins to take advantage while they can and before they are banished for another year.
I love it.
Time to start the spooky stuff

Brooke: you helped me get into the mood of Halloween. I saw some pictures of my great-grandson, Benny, carving pumpkins; very intense work. I guess I need to get some apple cider and cinnamon sticks to help me experience Halloween this year. I miss Halloween in Michigan with all the leaves falling and the air getting a little crisp. Nice writing. Linda

Alliteration galore! Ghoulies grumble, ghosties groan,
goblins growl; a fun, ending sentence rhyme scheme poem, very rhythmic indeed.
Can be read hilariously out loud emphasizing in just the right places.

Pili, I love Halloween and it's my daughter's favorite holiday, so every Halloween season I write several Halloween-themed poems :-) Thank so much. I'm glad you had a good time even if it's not your favorite day. :-) Brooke

Ghoulies grumble, goblins growl, is a wonderful use of words with the leter G. It is a mouthful of delicious words like Halloween candy. Your use of words creates a vivid scene of eeriness, ghosts I can spirits roaming about and hear the ghoulies making noise. This is a halloween poem to be read every year.

This one is excellent. I love how smooth it is, The Halloween mood lingers throughout. Your words are well chosen and yet not too frightening for children, Great Job!

Hi Brooke,
It's that time of year again and I really enjoyed this. What a fun, spooky write from the goblin's point of view.
I loved your entire presentation from the cool picture, to the matching brown background and your complimenting words.
Hugs,
Lou
