Winter can be dreadful, but it sure can be beautiful as well. Great imagery and flow in this piece. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem with us. Cheers!

I like the thought behind this one. Free admission to some of God's natural beauties. I have had enough of winter myself. Have you ever seen the ice storms when they freeze the entire trees, leaves, needles and all? It looks like a crystal city. Well done on this one- SAm

Yes, ice storms are gorgeous - nowadays I don't go out in them, but when I was young my husband, a photographer, and I went out into a few ice storms to take pictures. Thanks for your kind review, Brooke :-)

Well, at least the snow inspired you to write this beautiful poem, if begrudgingly. I like the last two lines especially: admission free,
God's gallery

If there is a little warning and I don't have to go to work, I head out in the blizzard and put down. It's like grabbing a box seat. This poem is craftingly written to describe the various views the strong of heart can find. I also enjoy your analogy. Nature is the best artist.

I guess you have something to show for all the snow you're getting over there and that's a beautiful poem that transfers what you are seeing to me. Thank you. It's wonderful. (should be melted by Wednesday.) : ) Judy

What a great little poem. If that is all I had to do was look through the window at the snow I would be a happy camper. Great poem as always. Joy

Joy, you're so right - when looking is one's only obligation, it makes the snow so much nicer than when one really has to go out in it! Brooke

I want to be snowed in!!! Oh, wait have to take the dog to the vet today...okay, I want to be snowed in tomorrow!
Beautiful poem, lends itself to lots of wonderful images. I liked the thought of the wind carving the snow as a sculpter would, never really thought of it that way. :) Great job!

That's the unfortunate apart about being snowed in - one can't schedule it for convenience sake LOL Thanks, Brooke :-)

Hello Brooke.
You've really created a painting with this one, I'm sharing your weather. :) It is all great but I just love the final stanza. You do this form so exceptionally well.
Fondly, Rebecca

The struggle can't be detected Brooke. It is wonderful. :)

hey brooke,
did you see on the news where alabama got snow yesterday? and, oh my goodness, we got it, too! about 2 inches and i have to say, it was beautiful! but thank God by nightfall, it had all melted which caused a lot of accidents this morning as it had turned to ice. we don't know how to drive in snow & ice!
oh, yeah, your poem. hum... well, it was terrific as always!
smiles,
deb

Yes, I knew this snow was coming to us from the South. Oh, we still have plenty of accidents in ice and snow, mainly because idiots think they can still go as fast and take curves as if the streets are dry. Thank you for your kind review, Brooke
