Wow! That's so true, Mary. Love the artwork you chose--very "He says, she says." The last line is powerful--much like "I know what you're thinking."
This should be a poster in every home and counselor's office! Funny play on "Always" in the title. Love it!

I really appreciate these challenges. I'd never heard of a "lune" or "minute" poem before. It does stretch us!

To this skillfully-written, vividly descriptive, powerful poem--I say "AMEN!"
I have had conversations with my grandkids about using "always" and "never" in their take on things--especially of others. They need to see that these two words turn truths to lies.

I enjoyed your poem. I like your rhyming scheme with a rhyme half way through each sentence. Good job. I wish you luck with the contest! God bless!

A poignant write as those repeated words grate on your heart and soul. Arguments are more prevalent now that we spend so much time at home together, your words here are powerful and well rhymed too, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Your poem contains wise counsel. "You always..." is very confrontational, blaming and shaming as you point out. Your use of rhyming carries the poem along well.

I totally agree! Words like "always" and "never" should be excluded in arguments where people want to resolve their issues and build their relationship up. Best wishes in the contest!

Hello, anonymous,
Great entry for the ABC writing prompt contest. You used a, b, c, d, and e into the poem well. I love the theme of the rules of engagement. Nice presentation. Good luck in the contest.

So true, and yet it is a difficult phrase away from which to steer oneself in a position of pain... Good formatting and unique offering for the contest here - thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls this evening... ;) :)

A very well-written ABC poem about arguments that mostly ends with either or both ending in tears of regret and pain about words that was said or accusations made.
