Reading this touches every emotion in me... And I love the name Sage. I actually have a character with the same name. The story is heart-felt, strong, and true... Very well done Liz. (The artwork reminds me of Van Gough's.)

This chapter made think a lot, sometimes when we clash cultures things are for the worst. I heard about the branding of the "merchandise", all this is so scary. "
Directing her attention to Liz and Linda, "This involves a medicine person smudging us, immersing us in smoke from burning sage. There will also be an extensive time spent in a sweat lodge to purify our mind, body, soul and to relieve our trauma."
"Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

Wow.... there's a lot here that presents the plight of people on the reservations, Liz, and really brings home that 'plight' to the reader through the girls you've 'built' with your story -- well done! ;) Thanx for sharing (and I need to go back and catch up, now!)... ;) Yvette

This is a well written chapter and is very timely as the human trafficking issues are really coming to the forefront on the news as well as social media. A good write on a tough topic.

You did very well with this continuation chapter, Liz. I liked how you encouraged everyone to share something of themselves, even if it was a memory of a loved one who had been there, done that, etc. I was so pleased that Sage was able to share and declare her devotion to become a medicine person, a shaman to some tribes. Great job, very much enjoyed.

Poor things, it's going to take a long time for them to deal with all the torture, move on. I like how you added a little backstory this time. It made the characters seem more realistic. Your chapter is well-written, very interesting start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

Great story from Strong Heart and she is able to help Liz and Linda have a spiritual perspective about this horrendous experience the girls have gone through by sharing about her sister. Hopefully, her sister will gain healing by sharing with Strong Heart after she comes out of the coma.

A few interesting things are revealed to me in this chapter. I didn't know that heroin was used frequently among the natives in the reservations. That does not sound very promising for the sanity of the tribes!
The enormous importance of someone who is called a "medicine person".
The sacrifices they have to go through though, during their learning time...ten days of fasting, for example, doesn't sound very pleasant at all...
