I had to dig back and read some of your stuff after reading your profile. It is amazing how a tragedy can change someone's life in a positive way. My hat is of to you for what you have been through, and for what you have become.

Hi Paul, Sometimes we have to learn hard lessons to grow. After 39 years I can still waddle a little bit. I swim, paint and have been writing on FS since 2010. Blessings, Kay XX

Welcome to Fanstory and thank you for your kind review. I had written the full story of my accident some time ago. You will make lots of friends on the site. I have been here for over ten years! Blessings, Kay xx

A very well-written poem about humility. Sometimes we need something bad to happen to our body in order to safe our soul which is more important to God.

Thank you Sandra. A hard lesson to bring me to God.

Excellent entry into the one word poetry contest, K. The precipitating accident leading to your transformation was rough, and thank goodness you had within you the humility and fortitude to heal your spirit with humility.
This is a fine testimonial and I wish you much luck in the voting booth.

Hello Gloria, Thank you so much for your kind review. Sometimes the Universe takes drastic action to teach us lessons. K xx

This is a beautiful descriptive example showing what humility is about...how it changes a person when tragic developments occur and there is no where to go except to look upwards and finally be able to feel and understand the perfect love our Creator God personally has for us. The hope we gain helps us through the difficult days that will still occur; and help us look past them to the coming time and place where eternity is a glorious promise being fulfilled. Thank you for sharing this, Kay. I think it will help those who are fortunate enough to be reading it. Hugs, Janet

Hello Janet, Thanks so much for your kind review. Lessons are sometimes learnt the hard way. I hope it helps those who are hurting, lonely and don't know Our Father. Blessings, K xx

Your free verse form expresses clearly the journey you are on. Life can change in an instant and when an accident happens, God is there to help us along as your words describe. I think many can relate to and learn from your words.

Your moving, deeply personal poem vividly describes how you learned the necessity of humility AND its origin, the Lord Himself, the source of all good things.

I understand your description of the word humility perfectly, Aussie. You described it in personal terms so readers can identify with it, too. Your words flow smoothly with great imagery and feeling. Your notes add more info. It all fits together that shows we all need God and He can, and will do, wonderful 'things' for us if we ask. The image is beautiful too--uplifting as are your words.
Thank you for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Hello Jan, Not often do I share myself, I just felt it may help someone out there who doesn't know the Lord. Blessings, K xx

Good luck in the contest, Kace. You said so much in this poem but the fact that you survived was an important issue. And to survive you had to first become humble says a lot. The priest was indeed wise. Well done.
