Bill,
This is pretty hysterical. I can see this acted out before some troops - who may or may not be ready to laugh at these things. hahaha I can also see the Drill Sargeants NOT laughing. hahaha
Very nice. Still reading.

The poor Sergeant just needs to quit now before he blows an artery in the brain or something! ;) Wonderful entertainment as usual Bill -- as I've said before these are my favorite, bar none!! :) Excellent and uplifting (guess that's a bit weird, but whatev's as my students say!)... ;) :) Take care this week! ;) Yvette

Thank you, Yvette, for the nice review. I enjoy Matt and Jiffy and Pons and Ned. Even Pez and Pallas are fun, though I have to go dark with them. Happy Mother?s Day!

That artwork choice would scare anyone from joining the military. And this story is rough. The military people seem that way. I think you're on to something. Keep up the great work.
May you and your family have a nice Mother's Day :)

Uh oh, there is about to be some excrement going down very soon. Losers, chumps. I have seen this before, Sergeants do not handle these type of recruits very well. Somebody is bound to get hurt, very badly.

Thanks, Chris. Hope they bend before the Army does.

I wonder if even a drill sergeant would be allowed to carry on like that these days. Everyone has to be sensitive these days. Not surprisingly, Matt and Jiffy are not in trouble. They can't refrain from stirring things up. I wonder what a day of dirt will involve. I hope it doesn't mean eating it. Maybe they'll learn not to irritate Sarg. Very entertaining. judi

This is a little more Corps philosophy than Army. The current Army policy is play or go home.
-
Those guys are certainly playing. Maybe at the end we'll see them nicely disciplines. judi

I am guessing Happy Valley isn't really very happy. I am getting worried for Matt and Jiffy. They don't seem to catch on to the Sarge's affectionate nicknames.

I see Matt and Jiffy as the Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John McIntyre of Army basic training. Perhaps they can meet military rigors and stay cool.

Hahaha, Bill, I loved this. Matt and Jiffy have some getting used to. Don't they? They are reluctant to say the least. But I'm sure that will be knocked out of them soon enough. I'm enjoying this. Ulla:))

Hello Bill Schott
I had sooo much fun reading you a one scene script with Matt and Jiffy
Matt and Jiffy Join the Army.
What made me get a kick out of your script were the humorous way you used the word maggot. And while doing push ups and the sly remarks from Recruit 1:
Hey, I found a penny! (smiles I wonder if he was going to put the penny in his piggy bank
Then
Recruit 2: I've got dirt in my teeth.
I wonder if the SGT asked why were you eating dirt and did you bring your tooth brush
Please continue
