Gypsy,
This is a nicely written haiku that seems to be an ephrastic poem written in response to the picture. The tree does look like it may just jump off the edge of this cliff. I like the bookend photos.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.

This is a strong poem with memorable images left with the reader through penned words and striking visuals used to provide strong support to the meaning of the message. I really enjoyed this encounter with your posting.

Your photos certainly explain the name of this tree (Kamikaze) though a beautiful tree and flower it does have a rather scary position, very well written and I like the comparisons****kahpot

The tree is a cherry tree. I call it kamikaze because it looks like it's jumping off the cliff.... it's a play on words.
Thank you very much for your review and kind words.😊

That is beautiful tree and my guess is that the root structure is much deeper than we can see so it's probably not quite "kamikaze" but I like your analogy.

Comment from Gloria ....
This is a most pleasing visual feast, Gypsy. An observation of an occurrence in nature that defies gravity, but you have well explained with it being a kamikaze tree.
Excellent entry into this contest and I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee. :)

Oh snap!!!! So basically it was a beautiful target for the pilots to fly into!!! Crazy! This was so informative and yet beautifully tragic at the same time. Great job!

Wonderful use of language here eliciting cultural references - so succinct and yet so powerful in its delineation - and a superb pic to illustrate -thanks for sharing
