Hi Liz,
"Dont dare screw up or your done for--you cant blame you're characters for there error's--their all your's." ... LOL! You saved the best line for the end. Sweet!
I think you and Danno could really get into a crazy argument. He likes to rile you, and vice versa. It's cute though. I especially liked the image of you standing in front of the bathroom mirror with a razor in your hand! I don't believe it for a second. But dialogue writers are such liars! Eh?
Nicely penned!

Thank you--so glad you were amused--I sure had a ball writing it--or rather, taking dictation from the evil entities I channeled. Cheers. LIZ

Very good commentary on dialog-ue and puncutayion, but what about spellink. Of course, all misspellinks are really typo's. And really, how can anyone screw up apostrophes? Its so easy. Sheeeeesh. Yes, dialog is not easy. It must be character appropriate and simple. Readers can get bogged down by adjectives. Adjective-itis runs rampant here at FS. Good piece!

This was an entertaining post, as usual. I always get a good laugh out of your writings. A lot of what you say is true about dialogue, especially the bit about the way people talk. My kids used to have a ball writing dialogue once they realized that they could use dialect, etc.

As usual you had me laughing .What a preposterous idea ,giving three stars! And will it really bring down their rank? I thought ranking is based on th number of reviews!
And the spelling dialog..we struggle to write dialogue!

What a breath of "fresh" air, you cheeky thing. I loved it, but then I appreciate your outrageous sense of humor. The really funny thing, though, is that I have come to the same realizations, with one exception...giving someone all threes!!! Oh, my, you are wickedly clever. Please don't change. Some here call their writing satire, but they don't know the meaning of the word. thanks Liz

This is clever. I must have missed out on a lot of your early writing. Yes, dialog or dialogue does give the writer a change to let loose. Those thoughts on getting back at those who give low ratings by finding their works and giving them all three stars is funny. So true. Just because you're writing dialog or dialogue doesn't mean you can mess up on using apostrophes. I enjoyed the humor in this. judi

Hi Liz,
As usual, you had me laughing at your prose. I love the way you write. I wish more people would take lessons in self-deprecation and humor. It's an acquired art I believe. One can't think too highly of themselves or it doesn't work. Thanks for re-posting this gal. I needed a laugh today.
Have a blessed day.

Comment from Mary Vigasin
As usual, absolutely brilliant. Showing how the author is hiding behind the characters' dialog flaws is funny. It is not me that is talking; it is my character! A fun parody with some truth behind it.
Well, I do not use too much dialogue as I am afraid my character may sound like me! But now, with a character to blame for poor language and punctuation skills, I may write the next great play!
Your advice, as well as your writing, is priceless.
Best wishes,
Mary

Again, I am sorry I missed this post the first time around, but glad I caught it this time. Of course, you already know I use dialogue to move my stories forward. Sometimes I get reviewers who want my characters to speak perfect English, it's not how we speak. Thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed reading.
