Shirley Temple was my favourite film stars when I was a child.
She was very talented and so sweet to look at .
I shudder when I think of the abuse she endure during her film career
She started " acting " at age three with a group of other toddler actors ..
....working hours were backbreaking and any tantrums were punished severely : the child would be place in a dark ice box and forced to sit on a huge ice block ..
...in her memoirShirley Temple wrote that she learnt at an early age that time was money...and fooling around was not an option.
When she was 12 a mgm producer exposed himself to her .. she was overcome by a nervous giggling bout and the guy furious sent her out .
The director of " Gone with the Wind " David Selznick tried to have sex with her at 17 .. she was able to outrun the fat pig around his desk (He had locked the door with a hidden electronic lever )
Comedian George Jessel tried to rape her ..all she could do was thrust her knee into his groin and he let her free.
Her father used most of her 3.2 million dollars earned fortune ..when she became of age it had dwindled to 44,000... yet she forgave him.
Her first husband ( she married at 17 ) was a drunken ,physically abusive and a cheater ..5 years later she divorced.
She was groped and harassed until she left the film industry in 1950 at age 22.
Despite all the ugly things she went through unlike most victims her second marriage was a success and blessed with three children .
She also sat at the boards of corporations and organisations like Walt Disney and National Wildlife Federation and last but not least she was ambassador and worked for the United Nations!
I don't think there has been a child star as talented as her after her.. she was unique and I adored her.

CIAO TEMPESTE: Or should I say, "TEACHER,?" It's getting so that now...I'm coming to learn something worth learning from more and more of what you write. Thank you for the info. You are appreciated. God bless you, my friend. Cordially: rhonnie69.

An adorable child who wormed her way into everyone's heart here at home. We all grew up with her along with many others still playing on stations all over the world.

I absolutely adore Shirley Temple. I grew up with my grandma watching her movies and I thought she was just the cutest thing. I love her movies and will share them with my children someday. Nice poem tribute to her, I'm sure she'd love it. Keep writing. Happy Monday.

Hello rhonnie69
What a great way to describe SHIRLEY Temple.---
Don't you just adore that, baby-faced smile?"
"For each twinkling eye...a charming little dimple.
