Hello Birth Mom!
I can't imagine the pain you live with every day! I remember the pain I felt every day when I was unable to have a child. One day a brave lady like you, ended my pain when she realized she couldn't care for her son and gave him up for adoption in his best interest. I don't know the whole story because it was not shared with us. My son was 15 months old when he came to us. He has brought so much love into our lives. From the day he came to us, one of the stories I would tell him was the story of his adoption and how another lady gave birth to him and how she gave him to us because she loved him that much. I pray that your son has had that same kind of life that he knows that you loved him that much too. My son is now 35 years old and a father himself of 2 sons. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the treasure you bestowed on another family when you yourself could not, Bless you!!! Patty

Dear Patty, Thank you for your comments and review. However, I did not give up my son for adoption - it was done without my consent. Dove

This sounds like a child was given up for adoption. I have heard many stories of successful reunions years later, although that's not always the case. A friend found out her father had been adopted and he's a different nationality from what they grew up assuming. Anyway, the format is correct and I enjoyed the read. If this is a true story, there's always hope.

Dear Susan, Yes, this is a true story. I wrote something about it in a story in my portfolio called "Backwards and Forwards," if you'd like to take a look. Dove

Your well-written nonet movingly describes the pain and loss of having had to give up a child for adoption many years ago. I hope writing about this is therapeutic for you. :-)

This meets the contest requirements nicely as you deliver a well penned and technically sound Nonet. The content is moving and evokes a sense of sadness and loss in the reader. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.
