This is a very good poem and I think that you have shown an example of empathy with grief. There are times when we can do our best, but ultimately the person responsible has to take charge of his/her own life. Best of luck in the contest. Marilyn

This is a take of so many these days. So many young men and women caught up in these horrors of our society in their attempt to find common friendships and acceptance by their peers. Only it takes them down paths far from what they intended when just trying to make a few friends and feel accepted among them. Parents do truly do their best but parents can only hold on for so long and then the child must make their own way with all that there is for them to learn and lived through, mistakes and all. We can only send a prayer to God to walk with them and protect them along their way. Great entry for this contest! Xoxo
