This brought back some fond memories. My second car, back in the mid sixties, was an old VW Beetle. It had no gasoline gage, and if I ran out of gas, I kicked over a lever on the floor and that gave me another gallon. I'm very glad you posted this!

I love the way you've managed to create the shape of the car with your poem. This is very clever but you've made it look easy as the poem reads very well and is not a bit forced. Thanks for a fun read.

What a fun trip down memory lane! I can't see the car shape since I'm reading this on my phone, but I'll take your word for it. Your rhymes worked perfectly and you painted quite a picture just with words. Great job!

I had read it on my cell and well it was ok, but on a full screen your poem is a dream. Yvette, this is very good. :) Who says poets aren't artistic. Why with words we can build the world and any state we wish. With our writer's pen a dog, a cat, an elephant and even a donkey ( to keep peace within the parties :)) would appear on screen. The world is open for us artists.

Oh wow, this poem is awesome! The poem itself is reminiscent and lovely, and the shape that the words hold is just so cool! Great work, this made me smile,

Wow, Yvette,
How funny is this, I had a 77 blue VW Rabbit in HS but it didn't last as long as yours - mine had fuel injection issues in Vegas, so I had to park it for repairs and I never got it back. Also, my sunroof leaked. However, everything that you said you did in it - we did too including drive-in movies, fireworks, ski and lake trips along with I had two Alpine stereo speakers on these long cables (I think they were 50 feet or more?) and they would come out through the back hatch and go on the roof of the car. Sometimes and we would party at the lake with our tunes... Sometimes I would be the only source of music at Mt. Charleston's parking lot. Lots of fun and good times, mine was a dude Lil' Dude too named Motley... LOL That is so cool you had him so long!!! I love that you got the shape too! Has to be my VIRTUAL SIX - I'm out until tomorrow! I love the poem too! It was very cool! Cheers, Fonda

I humbly accept your virtual six, Lady Fonda as it is a wonderful thing!! ;) ;) And, yeah, I even installed MY OWN 8-track tape player in Lil' Dude to go along with the speakers in the rear!! ;) ;) How hilarious is that?!! :) ;) Back in Black never sounded better! ;) ;) Thanx for the review on this one, ma'am! ;) ;) You keep on takin' care of you over there! ;) ;) Yvette

I love the uniqueness of shaped poems like yours.Your poem does what all good poetry should do, and that is engage the readers imagination. Well written with just enough rhyme. The photograph complements your words.

Wow--the shape is clearly of your car and the color background reinforces it so well! What a challenge, which you met splendidly!! And you captured the nostalgia of youth perfectly with your rhymed poem. I only wish I had the six stars this ensemble deserves. Brava! -Joan

This is fantastic. Not only do you achieve the shape of a VW Rabbit, but your words describe, quite well, what it was like to be young, and having fun, with our first owned car. The flow is smooth; the choice of phrases is great, and the rhymes are well done. You brought back memories with my first car as a teenager. You know you love your car when you give it an affectionate name. Well written and excellently 'shaped'. This whole presentation is wonderful. Thanks for the delightful read.
Take care, Jesse

I am sure it took a lot of patience to manage that shape you got for the poem. That was impressive. I liked your words, just as much, describing your youthful days and nights, with Lil' Dude. Enjoy your weekend, too, Yvette.
