Good for the prompt given at that time. Never heard of that word - now we have a new one. It feels strange on the tongue - like we should add a sound "contumely". We just ordered one of the Betsy Ross flags to put up the pole beneath our regular flag - mostly cuz Nike is nuts (in our view).

Lovely Rispoetto write Trisha about what your countries flag means, what it stands for and the respect it deserves rather than the contumely behaviour it sometimes gets. Great word choice. I found this challenge interesting with all the new, old words we've learnt.

I've learned a new word - contumely. Our flag certainly has taken abuse over the years, especially in modern times. Seems it's all right to burn it these days. Outrageous!
