Hi Donna -
This one is great. And, there are politicians that want to lower the voting age to 16... maybe they should raise that 32, too!! We need an informed constituency, not one that can be controlled and won't take the time to be apprised of the issues.
Great job!

I like your poem. It's hard tell when people come of age into real adulthood, instead of just passing the legal age for certain things. Perhaps I suppose when they start taking care of themselves, instead of relying on everyone else.
The first stanza reminds me of one time at school. All the lower classmen were pissed off because the administration were making new rules, especially considering hall passes, and they thought they rules were childish and wanted to be treated more like adults. So they reacted by behaving childishly and starting a riot. I think over 100 people got suspended for participating. Sure is a good way to show you're responsible young adults and should be treated as such, huh?

Dear samantha, You're absolutely right, they behaved in a reverse way from getting their point across in an adult manner to behaving riotously and childishly. Dove

This is spot-on accurate about the issues of responsibility and privilege! Great writing makes you want to cheer, and this is what I feel like doing. I enjoyed this, a bit sarcastic but also realistic poem with no sensible answers! Great job! Haha...love the youngster having road rage.
Thank you for sharing this!
