Absolutely adorable. What fun to read. Children of all ages will love this. I did. lol.
I love the cadence and, of course, the sheer silliness that is so entertaining.

Yes, I saw the 'bird' before I read the poem.

Tom,

hahaha! Oh, yes! I liked this quite a lot, whether for a child OR an adult. And, yes, again. I can see the bird in the tree, though not until you showed me - once again, your eyes are much better than mine.

One small suggestion:
Which was when that his feathers turned blue.
--> It was then that his...

Enjoyed!

I see him. It looks to me as though this bird, or should it be this poem has exscaped from the Wild West Show, along with other interesting friends in fur and feathe such as the rhino-sore-arse and the oozalum bird sometimes referred to as the vanishing pigeon. I am sure Dr Seuss would be proud of you.

Thank you Jim. Hah! I'm choking on my coffee this morning as I laugh.Especially at that rhino bird. Wouldn't want to be sitting under its perch.

Those beasties were from a bawdy song I remembered from my RM days. Just to keep you laughing I should perhaps mention that the song went on to state that the origin of the rhino-sore-arse was supposed to be from the ancient Greek, 'rhino' meaning gold and 'sore-arse' meaning piles so, piles of gold.

Because of my vision problems I cannot mot make out the shoo-shoo bird in the photo. But your poem is a cute children's poem for your upcoming book
Have a wonderful week.

This poem DOES have a Dr. Seuss quality, especially when you read it aloud. I think young readers will love echoing Sheldob's "Shoos." and, yes, I do see him hiding there near that tree trunk. Rod

A very well-written nonsense poem, you had me a bit fooled to think I want to learn more about this strange bird until I read your author notes, lol, I do see the bird in the stump too.

Oh, yeah! :) I can see your Sheldon there -- cool! :) And what an awesome write dedicated just to him...love your mixture of rhyme schemes all swimming in the 'oo' sound ... a delightful detour from the structured format whose deadline it today (so there's a lot of them!) Thanx for sharing your fertile imagination and talented pen with us today! ;) ;)

Wow, holy smokes! The bird is a shy animal. He only says one word. All through the entire poem says the same word. Nice poem! Thanks for sharing! I like this poem.

This was very creative, Treischel. I like what you're doing with the pictures and creating stories for them. And they're good stories as well. Nice job.

Hi Treischel,

This is a delightful poem for adults and children alike. I like that you invented the bird for this poem. As always, nothing here for me to suggest improving upon. Thanks for sharing your great work. Jan
