Very nice poem. I heard that polar bears fur was actually clear, for a fun fact! But no, your poem was great. The pictures of the bears glowing was a nice touch. The sad fact is that the ice is fading. Great job!

A fun poem, but thoughtful. This refers t polar bears in the past tense, as if the polar bears are no longer around. It would be sad to think of that time coming. I haven't really studied what's happening with the polar bears and whether the ice is melting in the Arctic. Excellent use of rhyme. This has kind of an ironic tone. Heard good things about the polar bears. Great=grandpa remembers them. judi

This poem really touched me. Global warming and the subsequent loss of polar bear habitat is such a tragedy. It's fantastic that you are raising awareness for this issue.

There has been a lot on the news about the polar bear. It will become extinct soon, the lack of food being a main factor due to the ice melting. The seals, which is their main source of food, are disappearing. It's a sad state of affairs. Your poem brings it home with a punch. Well done. Sandra xx

A unique and very interesting rhyme scheme you've employed here -- it has a bit of a 'modern eclectic' feel to it which fits quite nicely with your chosen pic. Overall, a nice presentation. :)
Thanks for sharing with all of us! :) Yvette

I enjoyed your poem, Bill. Good job on the rhyme and smooth flow. With the inclusion of the word 'Grandpa', I believe this is about how global warming has lessened the ice where polar bears live. It makes it seem that is a memory from Grandpa and the ice has disappeared. Good job and thanks for sharing. Jan

You took a social issue such as the polar ice caps melting and global warming and made it rhyme. The picture you chose is pretty coolwho doesn't like purple polar bears. Nice job.

I have seen them, but only at the zoo and they love the iced cold, but I dare say they have become acclimatised to English weather now. Best wishes, love Dolly x

Loved this..polar bears are my favorite next to our Minnesota black bear. I appreciate the reference to global warming, it's a disastrous problem for the earth and quite scary. Take care and thanks for the bear poem.
