Hey, Michael.
Were you aware that MAD Magazine is still being printed and in circulation today?
Imagine my surprise while I was perusing the magazine section at WalMart I saw the latest copy for sale.
I bought it, too.
I thought it went out of print years ago.
The magazine founded in 1952 by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines (EC Comics titles like Tales From the Crypt, Vault of Horror, EERIE & CREEPY Magazines, etcetera), launched as a comic book before it became a magazine.
At its peak, in 1972, the famously "cheap" periodical's circulation was 2.7 million. Currently, the figure is about 10 percent of that. as of Feb 9, 2018.
Good luck in the senryu contest.

I do run across Mad and snap it up once in a while. Still the same hilarious humor as ever. I have several old copies. It was tough competition, but I snuck in for second. LOL mike

I haven't seen the mad comic for yonks.
But this senryu contest entry makes perfect sense...now!
A great entry in this contest, witty and clever,
a worthy entry, good luck, blessings, Roy

A very well-written Senryu, as soon as we start to worry our brain starts to mulfunction and we do things that we would not normally do in the way we do it when we worry unnecessarily.

Mad Magazine was my Bible when I was in Grade School. it formed my sense of humor for life and for better or worse. I can still draw the Don Martin character with one continuous line. thanks for the memories..

Wow, this takes me back. I was born the year Mad magazine started. I grew up reading it almost religiously. I believe it had a huge effect on my humor. I like the question you pose at the end. Also, going from they and them to I. One individual can make a difference, just might be a ripple, not a splash. Excellent. Hugh

I had a little dog who was like that - the "what, me worry?" dog. Loved her so much. Your senryu expresses frustration with incompetent others, to which you just shrug - what can you do with them? Lol. Nicely done,
Carol
