May it become a full blown spell of kenching! Spate of chuckling is a good beginning...but it's not a real kench. At least you didn't chortle...that's a word I've always hated and for absolutely no other reason than its sound.

it sounds sort of unrefined, kind of plebeian - kind of like a cow chewing its cud. chortle chortle. Now I'm a snob.

I've never written it in a story - never thought of it, to tell you the truth, but I like it. I write mostly for kids and they DO snicker. Good for you. Thanks.

Kench does have a nice crackling sound which makes me think of a crocodile eating an arm or a leg. Too harsh to replace laugh with it's liquid L.
On the other hand, to laugh loudly can be extremely annoying. There's a resident here whose kench makes me wince.

Your review is clever enough for me. Your dispassionate description of a croc eating and arm or a leg makes me wonder if you have witnessed such? Or even been involved in getting rid of someone who kenched to loudly and once too often??
