Congratulations for your win on this older contest. We must treasure loved ones, as you say in your nonet, for we never know how long we will be able to tell them how much they mean to us. Marilyn

Thank you very much Marilyn for your surprise review, I appreciate you dropping by. Also, I would like to wish you a belated "Happy 75th Birthday." I'm right behind you, good Lord willing, I'll be 72 this fall. Take care of yourself and keep writing, it's a wonderful stress reliever...Bill

It seems that this poem has the intent of offering closure to those who have
suffered a loss. Although specifically of loved ones, it could be for other
creatures greatly loved. Congrats on your well deserved win.

Cedar,

I wanted to congratulate you on your very well deserved nonet
contest win. This is really a moving poem you have composed
in that restrictive form. Your message is one we all can relate to
and you've conveyed it so eloquently yet succinctly with a major
impact.

Your presentation is also excellent and your author notes are
appreciated. Happy Holidays to you as well. I thought I would
come by to review for 2 cents...you are very generous.

Linda

Thank you very much Linda for your nice comments, I appreciate it. Yes, I totally agree with you, this is a message, in my opinion, that needs to be conveyed.

I thought by promoting this piece very high on the charts that it might persuade more people to read it. And possibly spread a little more love, especially over the holidays. Take care and Happy Thanksgivings. Bill

You can't put it much deeper than that. I hold a burden of deep regret, as my friend, my uncle, was lowered on velvet ropes. I tend his children, but I was bent on attitudes to my dislike, as I turned and waved goodbye. Now, standing over the grave, I beat myself like a worthless twit, the stupid drama I let get in the way of the one and only true thing... life.

God, save us all in the end.

Thank you for your excellent review, I appreciate it. I suppose we all have experienced what you have described going through while standing at the grave. Eventually, it will be our turn - with family and friends standing around our graves, as we're lowered into the ground.

Enough doom and gloom...I wish you and yours a very happy and safe holiday season. Happy Thanksgivings. Bill

I can most definitely see why you won the contest! Sad, but true really. All of us take our loved ones for granted and even if we ponder their deaths, we wouldn't realize how sad we really would feel until they, well, actually pass away. You clearly deserved winning that contest. Best of wishes!

This expresses the sad truth that we often do not make room in our busy lives for the things and the people that really matter, until suddenly it is too late. Well expressed in your Nonet. Congratulations on winning the contest.

Such truth expressed in this poem. a somber reminder of the necessity of appreciating ourselves and other's in our lives. The closing structure of this poem is ideal for the message conveyed. You decorated this nicely. An interesting method of wishing happy holidays for sure.

This is definitely true. A beautiful reminder to everyone, we must not take for granted our love ones who are waiting for our attention. In this busy world that we live in, we should always find time to be with them. Wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing and reminding us of what we should be doing. Great read.

Amen. There is no greater truth than in your lovely Nonet, and your author notes. I have vowed to put all pettiness behind me this holiday season, and make my family my mission field, blessings....

This bold nonet poem demands attention, with its mournful image, and loudly written words. It carries an excellent message, which we often learn too late. Congratulations on winning the contest with this strong post.
