It certainly is a W, Tom, how strange. I don't think I've ever seen a letter so pronounced in a tree. Lovely photo, my friend, and I enjoyed your poem, all your ideas of what the W meant. It might have been a Wishing tree! :) Sandra xxx

Thank you Sandra. Hey, I didn't think of that one. Maybe I'll add that thought.

Ah, the return of the Animated Still! I enjoyed your cadence, rhymes plus circularity, and your capturing the letter in your photograph. Maybe, the "W" is for "Wow!" Smiles- Joan

I love your poems based on your own photographs. This one is a doozie. The joy of seeing the "W" tree is forever enhanced by the delightful poem that accompanies it. You really take the time to enjoy the world around you and you are inspirational to the rest of us.

Tom,
That is an astounding tree branch! And to think SOMEthing had to provide a force AGAINST that branch to cause those changes in direction - my brain goes directly to wondering WHAT it might have been! hahahaha What a fun photo and poem today! Thanks!!

This is delightful Tom, and I must confess it sure looks like a W to me as well. Smooth as silk as always. I love your creativity and ability to pen on everyday things that cross your path.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Treischel,
Ah, the fancy of the poet. The slightest departure of the world from the ordinary causes him to break out into song, rhythm, and rhyme; Into a world of imagination and metaphor where the description and color is in figurative language. A very nice poem my friend great flow, rhyme and poetic language. The whole poem is a fresh metaphor of what the import of a gnarly tree trunk might be. Thank you. I enjoyed this one.
Your friend and colleague.

Treischel, I am always amazed at the photos that inspire so many of your poetic writes. This one is no exception to that rule. Blessings, Patricia

It certainly does look like a 'W' Tom. Not sure you could claim one letter as spelling, but the poem is so clever! You explained it well. LOL You have a good eye for unusual things. Well done my friend. xx Nancy

One can find the most amazing things in nature - things that look like other things. it does look like a 'W'.
You've written similar poems before and I always enjoy them:)

Comment from June Sargent
If we took the time to look, we would probably find more "messages" from nature. What a unique way of looking at a tree. Now I will be on the lookout for them myself. Thoroughly enjoyed the read. Flowed smoothly. Well done.
