Good job, Chrissy. I really enjoyed this. Image is perfect for your words. You're right--the simplicity and juxtaposition of the gorgeous elegance of the flowers with the coffee jar "gold" are priceless. Marilyn

Hi Chrissy. I love homey things like that. I have a perennial garden. Right now I have lovely peonies in a blue bottle my mother gave me. Marilyn

Cute idea- I like it when a writer can turn such a tiny poem with so few words into something interesting such as this. Well done.

Beauty speaks for itself and does not have to be enhance. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is good imagery.

Beautiful flowers, nice
coupling of words with
the picture, yes even
your satori makes one stop
and think, there is
beauty in something that
seems so far disassociated
with the flowers. Good luck
with the contest. Lora

I like the 'vase' too, it's a pretty jar, and the label really adds to it! You could almost change the second line to not mention coffee, but say 'in brightly-hued arrangement'.
Followed by your great Satori line. But, it's a lovely Haiku as-is, of course.
Well done!

G'day Christine. Now that we have dried the house and shoveled out the mud I can do some reviewing. One of the boys found my sandal that went for a swim, in the flood, under the next door4 neighbors car so I can walk again hahahaha!
Anyway, enough babbling....
Loved the poem and loved the picture. I don't think I've ever owned a vase, I just recycle everything, such as coffee jars and use them, so this well written little piece struck a chord with me.
Quality stuff mate.
Cheers Fez
