Very impressive artwork. So true that drinking can lead to death, one way or the other. It might be in an automobile accident or as you mention if one is intoxicated, the lungs don't get the message to breath. There's also liver damage. People have to be responsible about drinking, and if they can't control it, there can be terrible consequences. Well stated, important topic in just a few words. judi

After reading and commenting on the snow in April, I guess I prefer your fantasy to reality. But you speak the truth starkly, and it cannot be denied. The protection for the brain from this truth is not to drink at all, which is the choice I made long ago. Drinking alcohol moderately may be acceptable, but it is dangerous. Thank you for pointing it out so plainly. As I understand it, the neurons that die never do revive.

I appreciate your positive comments on my poem. even though this poem is short, it was difficult to write. My second job in the evenings is teaching first time offenders drunk driving classes and many individuals in the class are struggling with addiction and other issues. I have had clients pass away from drug overdoses which seems to be more common in recent years. Thanks for reviewing and understanding my poem. Elaine

It does not get any more real than this. Another great job you have done with this piece of poetry. You have so much insight in the fewest to the most of words.
