You know I was looking for someone south of the equator to write a spring time poem. This place is thick with autumn. overly so. Thank you for breaking up the monotony. I'm a yank that loves Oz.
I hope your garden is as successful as you claim.
Cheers

This is such an enjoyable poem that I can identify with as a gardener. You describe well the joy you experience while working in the garden and then sit back, satisfied with all that you did. Very nice, indeed. Marilyn/BeasPeas

You are just now planting as, now I am beginning to
empty pots and wash them for next spring. My Lilly
bulbs have taken a new growth and are 3 to 4 inches
tall. No time left for blooms. The flowers have been
gorgeous this year so God has blessed me with the
pleasure of them and my squirrels behaved and didn't
uproot anything. Have fun with your summer garden!

Hi poetadeu , thanks for reading and reviewing my gardening poem, sound like we are opposite in weather patterns. here in Victoria Australia it is Spring and hence the new plants are going in and a good tidy after winter. had some frosts also in Winter killed some plants but over all most survived. I love the hot weather and cant wait for Summer ( Dec to March) we dont have squirrel here ( we have possums) but they are not destructive to gardeners. all the best Cheers Christine😄

I think I would love Australia.
Have fun planting...Joyce
-
yes you would it is do diverse each state is quite different we go from tropical weather to cold snow just depends on where you live. I love the tropics and going there for a holiday but live in a cold climate brrrr so elec bill gets high in winter lol Do come out one day Cheers Christine
-
Love to do that, but my air flights are
over. I never liked it much anyway. I
have been to the tropics and covered
much of the USA. but I am content now
to take short trips as I have to do my own driving...Have a blessed night!

This is a lovely poem Christine and an enjoyable journey around your garden. So it is Spring for you down under - my favourite season. I am writing about Autumn here in UK. But all seasons have there glory days. Lovely to know what you are growing in your garden. All you mention I also grow but don't have much luck with carnations which I do like. You have written 5 good stanzas in perfect rhyme and the whole, with the added picture is lovely. Warm regards Dorothy x

Hi Dorothy and Thank you so much for reading my poem and for your lovely review and rating. my garden is starting to look bright and colourful, yes carnations are hard to grow sometimes but they last for ages I love them in a vase. I look forward to spring and some warmer weather here in Victoria Aust as we have a long cold winter and the frosts have been unkind to my garden also have lost some favourites this year. thanks for your comments re the rhyme. I am a bit of a stickler for good rhyming so work on that aspect . bit I did enjoy writing this too and
eased it passed the test. keep gardening Cheers Christine 😃

Hi Christine - funny but I never think of frost in Australia, or in fact winter of any kind. I suppose it is because we only ever see beaches and bright sun on the media. Keep writing - Dx

Christine,
This is an excellent penned poem.. I love how your expressed so beautifully how you like working and planting in your garden. Your poem had excellent rhyming and rhythm with a very smooth flow and most enjoyable read. I too like working in my garden; I love planting tulips, they just don't last long, but they are so beautiful. I wish I had a six star left to give for this beautifully penned poem. Thanks so much for sharing my friend. LOL...............Portia

G'day Christine. As a gardener of more than 30 years I love this. It is so bright and colorful and beautifully written. I wish I could still toil in the garden because I never saw it as work, but alas my days are over. So plant one for me and call it Feral., lol. Well done mate. Cheers Fez

I reckon a cactus fits the bill. Or a weed lol.
Everything is as well as can be expected I guess. We have almost finished the paper work for Delia's visa. We should know within a couple of months if she can come or not. Good luck.
-
Oh Fez really ! lol however there are some gorgeous cactus though I'll see what I can find ha ha

Ahhhh! I can sense a poem coming from you lol.

You made wonderful rhyme out of all your garden enjoyment. Nameing all your favorites and fitting them into the structure of the poem is skillful, indeed.

Hi, Christine
_ Springtime and flowers---great combo.
_ My dad had a green thumb. However, I did NOT receive that gene upon my birth. Anything past snapdragons and petunias and I'm lost. (*<*)
_ Beautiful pix of your garden. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers & Blessings

Hi Jax thanks for reading my poem and for your great review and rating. At times my 'green thumb' has been a bit off colour I have lost a few plants along the way, bit in the midst of creating and Australian native garden in the back so that has been challenging but look quite nice with the different varieties, ( did lose a few to severe frost this winter so it is noce to see Spring at last) enjoy your support always and I am smiling Cheers Christine😃
