Good alliteration. Beautiful picture. For sure, summer can be a
good opportunity for plein air artists to create their masterpieces and
then fill books with beautiful pictures of their paintings.

Thank yu for the kind review. Glad you liked it.

This is such a clever haiku - yes, I can see how a 'splash of summer' would appeal to any artist wishing to work in favourable weather, but also to capture the colours of the season. Good luck in the contest! (You always catch me without sixes!) (But then, I guess it's not hard to do since mine are usually gone by Sunday night or Monday...sigh...)

Thanks for reviewing.

this is not really a haiku per se. a haiku has a satori, which is a moment of observation or reflection that brings the two interconnected lines together. your poem is a continuous flow from line 1 to line 3.
anyhoo, thank you for sharing!
good luck in the contest!
blessings!

Thank you for the kind review. Someone brought to mind that it wasn't a true satori line so I changed it.

Awesome picture! Yep, a real painting. It's definitely summer. Meets the rules, then some. I like the colorful portrait and colors that jump at you. The words are perfect. this is without doubt a contender for the contest. Will be some hard choices. Thanks for entering contest. wackydo

Nice haiku. Follows the 5/7/5 format-right count. The distill experience is about artist. The kigo-summer. The two juxtaposed ideas? I don't see them. Satori? not sure. Good luck in the contest.
