A very light hearted approach toward 64. I guess when the Beatles wrote it they were in their twenties, and 64 must've seemed old. Nice rhyming throughout. Hope you'll have man more wonderful birthdays. Well done. Les

Very sweet, light hearted poem reminiscent of the Beatles' song! It used to sound like a number very far away, but not so far away anymore for me, either, I'm afraid! Luckily, "someone still needs you" and someone's "still feeding you"!! Delightful writing.

Happy Belated Birthday!!!!! I was 61 a few months back. It's horrible getting older, isn't it? I think your poem did a wonderful job describing the ages process.

Hi Sankey,
I'm four years ahead of you young man. Happy birthday for yesterday anyway, hope it was a great day. Funny, that same Beatles song rant through my head a few years ago.
How'd we get this old? The world was supposed to end before we got here!

Yeah the Watchtower mob keep changing the dates what! What about that gruesome 1984 movie Orson Wells was it? The big eye and all that. Was still getting greetings yesterday from the up over crowd as I said good about different times I had 2 birthdays hehe. cheers.

Happy Birthday! The use of your repeated "Now I'm 64" made the mono rhyme almost completely unnoticeable. I thought it had a very sweet tone overall, and a nice upbeat rhythm. Thank you for posting. Cheers!

I doubt if very many of gave much thought to what the Beetles were saying when that song came out. We were young and that age was far in the future and beyond our comprehension.

I remember that song. Funny how time catches up (well, not really funny). I hope your aches and pains subside enough for you to truly enjoy your birthday! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday and I hope your aches and pains go away. I like your smooth flow of lines and use of words. There is a happy feeling in your words and I like the reference to the Beatles' song.
