Thank you for my first laugh this morning.
You captured my attention from the start. I can relate to your every word. the little girls in my family have long thick hair. That's why I prayed to have lots of boys and one girls. God had other plans He gave me two thick head girls. LOL

Ow mommy. Lots of conditioner, but not on the head, and comb with a large one, and start at the bottom of the hair and work up to the head.
A very true poem and great imagery. Ow mommy

Ah! That's where I'm going wrong - I've been combing back to front..... thanks for the tip! Love, Debs x

Welcome Debra, anything to lessen the hair battle.]
I had hair down to the waist till early 30's, and then it's up and down since.

I remember those days ... :)

Have you thought of using tangle-free shampoo or conditioner? There are some good products on the shelves.

Here's to motherhood, my dear Debra!

Love xxx

Sonali :)

Hi Sonali :) Thanks for the great feedback and your tips! I have a special brush called a 'tangle teaser' which generally works pretty well..... didn't work so good on the ice-cream sauce Katie got stuck in her hair the other day though - took me the best part of an hour to sort out that little mess - I really felt for her...:(

LOL

Oh dear, Debs.

This brings back such awful memories for me. When I was little I used to sit on my hair. I loved it, but boy did I hate it being brushed.

Your little girl clearly suffers the same :)

Bless her, I hope she heals soon.

Another fine poem, Debs about the kids :)

Much love

Thanks Tracey :) blimey, hair down to your bum... Bet you went through some right pain with the hairbrush! Katie, who's my 7yr old got icecream juice in her hair yesterday, it took the best part of an hour and a bucket full of tears to get the tangles out of it! X

    Indeed, Deb.

My hair was actually just below my bottom and unfortunately my mother was always in a rush!

I cut it all off when I was 10 years old with a pair of crimping shears. My mother nearly killed me LOL

Aw your poor little girl, I feel for her LOL
    bless her cottons :)

I love the story. My girls had naturally curly hair. They hated getting the tangles out. They thought Mom was so mean. My girl's tantrums were so Loud! Great work.

LOL! Kids are like that. I remember a time when my son, at 6 years old) took off down our lane on his new cycle and fell off. Two girls brought him back, he looked as if he had been to war, there was blood everywhere. He was fine, I could see him laughing with the girls. Then he came indoors, we had a mirror at the end of the hallway and he spotted himself in it. My god! He screamed the house down! It was all surface blood from the grazing he took, once I'd washed it off, there was hardly anything there! They are funny, aren't they. Another lovely warm family poem, my friend! LOL! xsx Sandra

Ah, thank you Sandra :) I had a similar incident with Ben before - he'd cut himself and hadn't felt it, when I asked him what he'd done because there was blood dripping down the back of his leg, it was like he could suddenly feel the pain because he could see blood! Love and best wishes, Debra x

That was exactly it. Seeing suddenly becomes painful! LOL. x

LOL - I remember being that very same child! Eventually, my mom got so fed up she chopped it all off in a very short bob!

(come to think of it, maybe that's why I haven't cut my hair in over 30 years LOL )

Ah! A childhood scar! My mum cut off all my hair too because it was so thick and wild - still is, but I wear it how I like now (just past my chin at present!) It took me 45 minutes to detangle Katie's hair yesterday - she'd somehow got ice-cream sauce in it and it was in a big clump - I ended up trimming about 1/2 a cm off the ends, poor love was beside herself...

Drama queens, for sure. I had four of them. Too much estrogen in the house. Ha. Most of them had sons. Smarter than I was. Ha

LOL. I remember my mom threatening me as a kid, "if you don't let me comb your hair, I'm going to cut it really short." She would never have done that, of course, but a 4-yr-old doesn't know that. So this really rings true. :)

LOL Julia! The things we say to get our children to cooperate! Tangles aren't nice though, especially when having them combed out is keeping us from playing! Thank you for your great feedback :) Kindest regards, Debra

A succinct 5-7-5. But it it hurts - the tangles. Cast your mind back. Had you no tangles? Had you no hair? Tanted you no tantrums..... Hey! Who's writing the poetry here? You're a mum dammit and the more you do for them the more they hate you. And when the situation's reversed in 40 or 50 years' time - plus ca change, plus ca le meme chose. Anyway it's a nice little poem.

Thank you! Glad you liked it.... I remember the tangles all too well - I also remember my mum cutting my hair short to avoid having to comb out tangles from it! I won't do that to my girls, though......! Kindest regards, Debra
