This must have been a nightmare at the time. Thank Heavens it is now all sorted and you were exempted from the charges. Sometimes it can be nearly impossible to sort out glitches like this.

Thanks for coming by. I just wrote a response and it did not go through. We were thankful to have help from our Local State member who put us in touch with the Road's minister's office. I suspected a scam because of the weird e-mail address on the note that came in.

Bureaucracy is a pain. Much more complicated than it needs to be. I'm happy to read in your author notes that you got it sorted out, with a little help from your friends in high places.
Always enjoy your posts, Geoff. You have a cheerful disposition and it shows up in the way you write.
Stay safe and be blessed

I enjoyed this story of the trials and trauma of life behind the wheel. There's not much one can get away with nowadays with all the remote roadway cameras. Great story!

A very well-written story about bills that heaps up and things that can't get paid because of lack of funds and end up in a dispute that must be sorted out quickly before it gets worse.

Thanks for the review. Not sure about unpaid bills it was mainly to do with a scam in one area and accidental doubling up on Insurance.

Your bad luck was filled with good luck. You should probably keep a log of all accounts you pay regularly to avoid any duplicates. It sounds like your bureaucrats are fair and kind. Cheers- Joan

Well our local State member was a big help. She got me in touch with the Roads Minister's office. Thanks for the great review.

What a big hassle you had. I'm so sorry. I understood your English perfectly well. Maybe that is because it is not my first language? Mastery, of course wouldn't understand that either. Ulla:)))

HI Geoff. I think I understand this entire fiasco, but not sure bcause yu write in Aussie terms lot and I am unfamiliar with them, Like, these for instance. ("1. I boobed on a change of insurer"
And; "Due to the fact of crook hearing...."
And: "...more than $AUD200.
And: "2. Our old E-tag died (E-tags in Australia are for payment of Toll road. (This tag business could be explained a bit better too.
I just think it would be a more enjoyable read if it was written in English. Sorry, Mate. Bob

Bob America has corrupted English for centuries and you know I am right. Here we go for an explain.
Like, these for instance. ("1. I boobed (Made a mistake)on a change of insurer".... I was signed up with 2 INsurance companies for the vehicle for a time. Probably not allows hehe especially if you claim on both if needed.I got a refund when I cancelled one of the policies.
And; "Due to the fact of crook (poor)hearing...."
And: "...more than $AUD200.($200 in Australia read probably $USD 150.
And: "2. Our old E-tag died (E-tags in Australia are for payment of Toll road. (This tag business could be explained a bit better too.) Yeah don't you have a system for your toll roads that incorporates a thingy on your windscreen that pings or whatever for the charge for toll being applied to your account? But good idea I will explain more. Thanks mate!

Geoff,
Oh, wow. Sounds like you guys have all those fun moments that come with technology! Isn't it scary to know there are scammers out there and that they are always looking for ways to get our money!
Thanks!

Yes Robyn not wrong. Poor old Bob Hartson (Mastery) had a lot of trouble with some of my expressions. Hope you did better. Look back on my response to his review if you need any clarification I will make some changes he suggested or add more explanation. Thanks very much.

What a trial, but mostly I'm sad for the loss of your independence. I know how you both feel.
I haven't driven since my blindness diagnosis in 2009. I took myself off the road immediately. It was progressing quickly the first year. My doctor thought I would be completely blind within the first year, but it turned out to be much longer. I still have a little bit of central vision, although obscured. I praise God for His mercy!
Thank you for sharing this and I will continue to pray for you both. Disabilities add to our troubled lives. It is in the Lord we overcome and move forward, rejoicing.
Sending you my best today as always and blessings forever,
