I like this one, especially the twist at the end. Personally, since they were digging i the wrong spot, I would have kept my mouth shut, but I guess they eventually would have found her. Great job with this one.

Yep, he would have been nailed eventually for sure, Sasha. Thanks for checking out this chapter in my new book. I don't know how long I'll be able to come up with new material, but to fill an entire book, I imagine it would take 70 to 80 such stories.

Dean: this one let me breathe . . . not the scariest. Maybe because people killing other people and burying them in their basement and backyard is not a new idea. Who was that guy who played a clown at children's parties? The one who killed young men and buried them in his basement or under the house? But that's o.k. I need to breathe without fear for a moment and now I'll enter another "Twilight Zone". Linda

John Wayne Gacy was his name, Linda. he mutilated, sexually assaulted and buried more than 33 teenage boys and young men in a series of killings committed between 1972 and 1978 in Chicago, Illinois.

Gacy was sentenced to death for 12 of these killings on March 13, 1980. He spent 14 years on death row before he was executed by lethal injection at Stateville Correctional Center on May 10, 1994.

Gacy became known as the "Killer Clown" due to his charitable services at fundraising events, parades and children's parties where he would dress as "Pogo the Clown", a character he devised himself. What a perfect ruse to stake out potential new "prospects", right?

You simply create a new book, c", Mae, then go through your portfolio and add the stories you want.

To the right of the FanStory logo, at the top of the page, but just beneath the tool bar at the top, you'll see three tabs. "Read", "WRITE", and "CONTESTS". By holding your cursor over "WRITE", a drop down menu will appear, giving you three options. "POST", "BOOK" ( which is the one you'll want to create a new book), and "BROWSE ARTWORK FOR POSTS."

You'll have to name your book, add your stories (or poetry), and give a brief synopsis or summary of what the book's about. Then, that's it, you're done!

I'll consider another 100 word horror contest just for you, my friend. My current contest, Dr. Terry Fying's Crumbling Crypt 2 is bombing miserably. It needs five entries to go "live", yet is has just four entrants signed on. I refuse to enter my own contest like I did the last time. There were a few who claimed that I created the contest just so I could win, whcih could not have been further from the truth. There were some outstanding entries by some of this sites best authors, well worthy of winning the prize. I just got lucky. ;)

We really can't please everybody! My apology for not joining your contest. Oftentimes, I get scared for I may fall short and I always have grammatical errors. I intend to review my English. I just have more important things to do. Anyway, summer is in the air here in the Philippines, so I have a lot of free time to read, write and review. Thanks for the info. Well, if you don't promise to enter, then I'm not going to create it. Look, here's what you do (I can't believe I'm about to share trade secrets with you!) Write about something that absolutely terrifies you. Because when something scares you and you write about it, that comes through and resonates with your readers. If you write about something but you're not afraid of it, it will seem contrived and fall flat.

That's what I do (yes, a great many things scare me), and if you do that, write it from your heart and gut and not your head, you can't go wrong.!~Dean

Thanks, Barbara, and I'm glad you enjoyed this parody of Poe's, "A Tell-Tale Heart". It was a blind contest entry, so none of my fans were notified, for obvious reasons. It got spanked in the contest as well, 15-8 votes. Apparently, parody doesn't sit too well with the voters, LOL.
