I love the picture. I love the story. The Sergeant did not want to force responsibly on the rioters. He just wanted to let them live with the damage they did. Rioters of the past have done that. It has been many years and people still suffer. Great work.

Some people will never learn responsibility. They have not had to be responsible for anything up to this point. You told your story well and made your point.

This has a good begining and the possibilty of a good story, but the ending really doesn't seem to fit. You can see that you were trying to force this story and it's not working.

Yes, I have to agree with you. Not one of my better efforts.

This meets the contest requirements nicely. You deliver a complete story with a powerful message that many can learn from. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you so much for sharing this with me.

The author has written a piece that could be controversial and receive opposing reviews. Much as this is a blind entry, I won't be able to compare with other reviewers.
But speaking of the R word, many do not come forward when it comes to its acceptance. Much like an obligation, they shirk from bearing it on their shoulders. There is a fine line between accepting responsibility and forcing it. The first requires personal commitment while the second is a passive reaction.
Between "I accept the responsibility" and "I hold you responsible for this" maturity is an important element. In the case of this writing, all involved have equal burden.

Responsibility is something some people hate to accept. I found your 100 word story to have the required character setting, conflict and resolution. Best of luck in the contest.

And most who burn and loot never heard of responsibility, like most who march and chant. Like most 100 word dashes,
this one is kinda skeletal. It works, though.

Interesting story focusing on the plight of the police, generally, because of the missteps of a minority of them that makes the headlines.
Unfortunately, I've read and reread the climax of the story. I'm afraid I don't understand it.

Thank you. Even some of the Police didn't understand responsibility, until the Captain explained it. Then they understood. The resolution was understanding.
