Wow. I thought I knew musical terms! This is such a sensual, sexy, romantic poem, and flows like melted honey. Thank you for including the video as well - I enjoyed it immensely.

Now I am truly humbled. Thank you. Last year I took a long course in music appreciation. It was difficult because I don't have a musical bone in my body. I was the only one in the class who didn't play an instrument or sing. However, the course opened a whole new experience for me. I now hear music differently. It is a whole new language. I pick up terms the way I have learned languages. Again, thank you so much. Jimi

Well Jimi, This is an exquisitely musical masterpiece
merging erotic, beguilingly impassioned desires and
passions being played by a lover like a innately
sensitive and attuned Maestro violinist, and indeed
with the stunning video and music, this mesmerizing
sensation reverberates ever so delightfully through
the senses; beckoning emotions, feeling, desires
and yearnings to flow out through the escalading
and retreating crescendos. I was so thoroughly
captivated, and wow, gained a music terms edification
all at the same time! Loved it all. And btw,,,,this
violin treat here I play quite often before bedtime...
It is utterly relaxing and soothing. Thanks for
sharing. Best wishes always, Ronni

Ronni, good evening. How are you? I had just returned from a great evening out and upon opening Fanstory to review and read I found your wonderful review. I am humbled once again truly.

Two years ago, I took an intense music appreciation course for it seems many of my friends are musicians and my youngest son's grandmother is an Opera singer. She actually was the impetus for instilling in me a love of many kinds of music. I, however, do not have a musical bone in my body. I cannot carry a tune, so perhaps this is why I cannot write perfectly metered poetry. lol..I can, however, and do listen to music in a whole new light. Music terminology was quite easy for me, for it is a whole new language and to understand and hear the difference between minor and major, or a fugue and a recapitulation opened a whole new world for me. I now listen to music quite differently and appreciate it more. I have often used musical terms in my works of poetry.

Thank you very much for stopping by. I have so many reviews to answer, my mind is overwhelmed. Jimi

That's a very beautiful, passionate love poem. Lovely and powerful imagery, beautifully said and the rhythm is terrific. It's also very nice that you define those words. It's more important than people realize to know what they're reading.

Whew! This is a hot one, Jimi. Love the way you worked an orchestra into your tiny bedroom, sheets dishevelled, and moonlight pouring in. Nicely done! But then, music is prominent in our lives, isn't it? Though, I hear so much garbage on the radio today, I prefer to slip my CD's in. I like soft jazz, Norah Jones... or acoustic guitar, ballads from ageing Gordon Lightfoot. I am appalled at rap and techno crap. And you prefer violins and flutes, don't you?
Your poem is quite sensuous,
"Slide me delicately, con affetto between your sheets
all while your passion melts me
like the Maestro's crescendo score
Fold me comfortably into your mold"
I especially like the repeated line,
"Play me...
as a Maestro would finger his violin"
and these lines,
"Instruct the day to leave your balcony
Tell the moonlght sonata to fall in melodic motion" ...(spelling - moonlight...a slip of your finger, and the only correction you need to make)

You have some nice alliteration,
"Caress my chords"
"melodic motion"
"beauty's breathlessness"

Such passion, Jimi...
"whispered sighs,
hungry kisses,
as each perfect caressed encore,
seeps deep into my famished skin"

And now I have to take a cold shower!
cheers
Kimbob

Kimbob, wow my sweet friend, thank you ever ever so much!!!!I prefer classical, blues and jazz. Actually a year ago I took a music appreciation course. It opened my eyes and ears to a whole new world. I do not have a musical bone in my body, but now I hear music so differently. The musical terms just stick with me as a new language. Thank you sweet and dear friend.. I apologize profusely for just responding.. Jimi

So the winds of time have truly been very good for me
Please pray that I can be in Heaven for all eternity
The good book says that Hell is a terrible space
But what a blessing to know, there is a better place
The Spanish makes this more beautiful and passionate. Thanks for your author notes..well written love.
God bless

I love this piece of free verse jimi. In the past, I have written several poems relying on lots of musical terms and it just thrills me to see others do the same. Making love IS like playing a musical instrument and/or listening to a wonderful virtuoso. Great metaphors throughout. Sue
