Your life, in far less than 150 words.. and no less than inspiring, to say the least! you've encapsulated everything that makes your life what it is: defined yourself. And it's inspiring, sir. Well done
:)

Thanks, I guess it all comes down to Love!

This life story tells much about the author's life in few
words. The words, "recovery is still a living process" are true for all of us, or so I believe.

Thanks, most people are moving towards the ascent of the spirit. Some realize this, others don't.

I like that you have shared things about your personal life in a public writing. Life over many years and experiences that ended in the knowledge, honor and respect of meditation that changed your life for the latter years. I liked that you tried and gave this writing your humble best. Good Luck in the writing prompt contest!

It is difficult to admit to myself that i actually went through this sordid life style let alone let others have a peek at it as well. Happy Easter!

Yvon, this is an amazing piece of work. All the hell that you put yourself through and yet you pulled yourself up out of that quagmire. Bravo. Don

journeyed into deeper darkness than drugs- was lost to the world. [What would be a deeper darkness than drugs? This is not a point of criticism, just a curiosity.
Then I stepped on the doorstep of a Divine Being. [And, again, this allusion. You lead the reader in and then pull back. AGAIN, this isn't criticism, but when you mention the specifics of " pot, LSD, mushrooms and coke [getting] drunk a lot and partied around" ... those are concrete hells we can relate to.
In point of sequence you found a Divine Being, but they way you wrote it you found meditation. That seemed to be the true savior! When you end with the line "I would not walk away to journey down that dark hellish road again!" to which road are you referring?
Very well done, Yvon!

When you seek the truth sometimes you fall into the clutches of false prophets and false religions. These are much darker than drugs! As for the Divine Being I didn't want to make this a religious piece so I left Her as a mystery. She taught me meditation that begins with thoughtless awareness. It is in this state of being that I found out how to repair myself and become my own master.
The hellish road is the dark journey I traveled to enter the light, (mainly drugs that led to false religions).

Well, bless you, Yvon! It was hard for me to explain that I wasn't being critical, only curious. Thanks for being so enlightening. I made many of the same false starts (drugs and the like), but apparently broke free before the real harm could come.
