Sounds like you got in a bit over your head with the car payments, so maybe the fire worked out for the best. Your job at the supermarket must have been interesting. That reminds me of an "Are You Being Served?" episode where the customers were trying to gain the job of pitching the products in the store. Well told. It was nice that you were able to bring your creativity into this job. You were keeping busy. Interesting presentation. judi

The title, 'They Want You Always in Their Debt',- reminds me of the finance companies.-Every time you get them just about paid off, they start asking if you need anything else.
Great photos.
This is well-written.
Nicely polished.
I see no need for improvement.
Thanks for sharing it.
Good luck with your future writing!

Thanks Nicole a nice further review. Good to have new friends I have lost a few in here by death or moving on. Take care will check your stuff out later. Not sure if this chapter or the next one is going to be split on the advice of a good friend he reckons I need to add more info. I guess we are all different hehe.

It is said if we don't listen to what God wants us to hear, he hits us on the head a little harder. I loved the story of the car. This is very well written

Yes Barb God was so good to me. Speaking to me as it burned down. as I said I should not have gone into further debt. I still regret trading in my little Mazda I had from brand new on the Capella I bought before the Gemini that burned. I possibly should add more to the chapter and now I might just do that. Thanks again.

Once again you have a wonderful post. It was easy to read and I enjoyed reading. Your history is interesting and it introduces us to a different life, yet very similar to the one we all grew up with.

Thanks barbara I unfortunately signed up again for another 2 years and since I did that some of the reasons I did are leaving. Found out Dean Kuch's threat tro leave was a STUPID April Fool's joke. Especially seeing a lot of us are a bit sensitive about FS atm. Cheers.

I have never heard of 'spuiker' before. I am not even sure what they are called in the US. I agree, those loan sharks are horrible. I like your description of them as Jeckyll and Hyde.

I never knew the announcement person in the supermarket was referred to as a spruiker. Those loan sharks are something else. The greed they have makes me sick.

One day my wife and I were returning home for a doctor appointment. Just as we pulled in the driveway, black smoke came billowing out from under the hood. By the time the fire department arrived it was a total loss.

Yep Thomas it was a sad time for sure. I knew then why no one parked in the spot I did. It is awful seeing your car going up in smoke. I think I mentioned I had just paid $600 to get it serviced too. Thanks mate.

I told you I'd read you in the wee small hours Dr Sankey it's 12a.m. and I'm up. Your stories with the exception of your Christian beliefs could me mine. I am not going down that path ever again. Ours was a caravan we got behind with the payments. Yeah, been there. Sincerely Anne.

A very well-written story. It is hard to make an honest living. When someone try to trick you into a commitment to pay them money for something you don't need is always better to ignore those letters.

You've definitely let it "all hang out" Geoff, very brave, at least your debt was cleared up, and a merciful God who knew what you needed. Sometimes that inheritance that the Lord promises, it would be nice to get an advance sometimes, heh heh. Great effort and write Geoff, well done, blessings, Roy
