I am really wanting some candy at the moment. Your poem has evoked a feeling of immense hunger, lol. Great imagery with descriptions of all the choices in the candy store.
It takes me back to when I was a little girl and had some money and was looking around at my choices and yet I confess, unlike you, I probably indulge a little more than I ought. lol. Great picture by the way. I feel like I am in Bulk Barn. lol

Good morning determineddreamer,
Thank you for embracing this little poem and its author so completely with the gift of your generous nostalgic review.
I would bypass all the candy for a raspberry white chocolate truffle from a tiny patisserie on the left bank but that's why there is chocolate, vanilla and strawberry!
When it comes to chocolate....completely seduced
So glad that you enjoyed this walk on the lighter yummiest side. After so many seriously toned poems, I was ready for something easy on the brain.....
"great imagery with descriptions of all the choices...."
feels even more gratifying than it sounds"
Peace, hugs and lots of smiles,

I remember when a trip the candy store was a major event and a nickel bag was a week of sugary treats not a drug dealers metric. The good old days... thanks for the memory.

OOOOOHHH! Like a kid in a candy store, it doesn't seem
like I've changed at all. So hard to make some choices.
This poem is really SWEET!

This piece takes my back to when I was a child. We had these penny candy stores in the neighborhood. We'd take a dollar and be in heaven. This piece brought back memories. Thank you for sharing.

This delicious write portrays well the choice overload conundrum a child faces in a candy store and the time honored challenge of restraint to not eat too quickly for the grand finale of the candy center! It shows a that measure of delayed gratification exhibits maturity. Too bad adults don't get that concept all too often. :0 GracieAnn

You hit it right on the head. "Where do I go first." What the heck I will buy them all. I may gain a ton, but what a way to go. I don't eat much candy because once I get started I don't know when to quit. Yes I am a sugar addict. I have lost well over 200 lbs and don't want to regain it. It is easier to put on than to take off.

Jill,
I have always had a 'sweet tooth', but as I grow older, my love for sweets has intensified. I'm told that as we age, our sweet taste buds are the last to go. I don't know that as a fact, but my ninety-one-year old father seems to support the philosophy...or maybe he is where I inherited my love of sweets...genetically speaking.
The poem is a delight to read, and your selection of color scheme, format, and photo enhance your story nicely.
Excuse me, I just dropped my Tootsie Roll.
