solid rhyming couplets
effective imagery of prozac as bottled sunshine
I like the proximate rhyme of the alliterative placid/passive
strong social commentary on the over-medication that runs rampant in our society

What a powerful poem! Your emotions are honest and valid. I especially like the ending. You did an excellent job expressing your feelings.

Fantastic Jaq and with so much truth. I've seen the negative impacts that Big Pharma has on people and in fact have had many people join my meditation classes in their search for more holistic answers than the dangerous popping of pills. It's an unfortunate fact that Big Pharma reaps Big Profits from so many of their supposed solutions and many of these drugs are dangerous in the extreme. Very well done for highlighting this as it may make some think twice before listening to these puppet doctors.
The father of modern medicine said "Make a habit of two things. To help or at least to do no harm." Seems many in the profession forgot the second part!?!
Beautifully presented Jaq, take care, Garth

This was excellent. And sadly, it is also very true. It seems doctors are all too quick to write out a script for some chemical pill which is supposed to "fix" you. But you end up with awful side-effects, which they then want to give you more pills for. And so it goes on...
Very well done with superb poem. Your descriptive writing was very clever and told the story well. Well written - well done!

What an unusual theme! I have to say, I agree completely. Too many people are kept subdued by the chemical "liquid cosh" when the motives for prescribing the stuff are questionable. Intelligent poetry.
