Is human love always a wistful, airy-fairy wisp of wishful thinking. THey say Midsummer night's dream is the sweetest love story ever written; "If music be the food of love, play on; let me have more of it." Aren't we down to earth human. So what is human love, surely more than an illusive shadowy thing. Perhaps your heroine in the poem should hide in the shadows a while longer until she grows a little She might get hurt. -Ekim777

It is about someone in love with a friend
and cant pluck up the courage to let her know that he wants to be more than just friends, hence why hides in the shadows
