Still in control, but anxious. (delete,) Arnie /maybe? I like the way the fortune teller is slowly revealed as Maureen. Nice story. Is there a follow-up? I think there should be.

The story is a perfect answer to the dilemma of time alone when you have so much on your plate along with the children's schedule. Because of the excellent writing up of the background, these two shared I knew Arnie wasn't being unfaithful and that the fortuneteller had to be his wife. Call it a woman's intuition. Also, would he have taken the rug off his head if it wasn't his wife?
My favorite line in this story... The excitement of his courting days were like portraits and landscapes hanging on the walls of their memory... flashes of color in the black-and-white night. There are other great lines but don't expect me to quote them.
As for your author's notes... My husband and I had four children. Our rendezvous was a few days at the Four Seasons, perhaps once a month, but only during the week because we knew they wouldn't miss us so much on school days. Very good subject.

Thanks so much, my friend. I appreciate the six stars and most of all just you and your loyalty to my writing. Bless you, Ralf. X Bob

This definitely is romantic and erotic. I did guess the fortune teller was his wife when he took off his toupee. You seem to like the name Maureen(Mo). With Cleve and Mo and now Arnie and Mo.
I liked the metaphors you used and the setting description.
Keep writing

Steamy and so well written. Of course, one had to love the surprise ending the best. Especially after I called the guy some bad names along the way.. Haha. Really excellent as expected.

Ahhh. Thank you so much for going back into my archives for this one, Joanne. It is seldom done for some reason. I tend to forget that I used to write a lot of short stories and poetry. The one I am most proud of is a thing called "The Interview" written over four years ago. It is in the portfolio. It was published and if you like surprise endings, you may like this one. Bless you and thanks again for taking the time. Bob

Nicely told story, with a good message, even down to the fun of role-playing!! Very sensuous, without becoming pornographic. Nicely done.

That was really good. I didn't see that situation happening you don't know what great lengths I just went through to avoid saying one word. This is something that all women should do about every 6 months of their marriage to keep the romance alive. HOT! Yours, Teresa.

Thanks so much, Teresa. LOL...You liked this, eh? It was for a contest, I think. I don't think I won either. LOL..I am so happy to see you perusing my stuff. Wow! Hey,Tell me what you think of one of my faves if you can...It's called "The Interview" (Way back about three years, I think...I almost had it published.) Close only counts in horseshoes and grenades tho.) (I hope you catch on...because It's a thinking person's ending. Some didn't get it all the way. .Surprise! :) Bob

As soon as I finish "Falling Up The Stairs" I am on Homecoming. Then when I finish this book I will read "The Interview" I promise. It can't be as good as the two books I am reading now. It would be impossible. Yours, Teresa.

Oh wow, what a read. Married coupes really have to find time alone. These guys had to be creative to find the hot coals of desire again. The suspense was intense, mind you. but thank God it was his wife. Whew!

Why of course it was his wife. what sort of a romance story would it be with a guy cheating on his love? LOL..Thanks so much, Marilyo. Bob

Arnie was horny. - nice start, made me giggle
if I have my way I'll spread sauce all over you and work you like a rib- LOL
I was kind of expecting the ending. I did not believe that he would cheat on his beloved wife. So the only criticism I have - the ending was predictable. But it was a very good read. Well done :)

Excellent! I knew there would be an unexpected punchline, just had no idea it would be that! What is it about getting away from the norm that can spice up a neglected love life? I hope lots of couples read this and take note! A very enjoyable read, and one I'm glad I read in the morning! Alexis x

Master Mastery,
Indeed.
A definitely convoluted way to pep up a flagging romance.
