I wish I had six stars to give to this poem, it is simply
wonderful, so clever, well written, flows and rhymes beautifully, and very amusing.
Well done, thank you for sharing.

Thank you
You must have used up your last sixer on my other poem, Redemption, but I'll take this as a virtual!
This is one of my favourite 'funnies' - if you enjoyed it you would probably also like Country Justice and The Coat-tail Ghost.

very comical, if only cows got their own back! Rhymes were good, went along at a steady pace, and it didn't end where I thought it would. Very clever, I'm hopeless at humour poems!

Hi kiwisteveh
I can only say that I haven't stopped laughing (apart from this moment), you are truly the next Pam Ayres in the making.
Please let's have more.
Thanks

Thank you, Silver Wolf (although I suspect your Latin may be a little wonky).
If you have the time to hunt through my portfolio you might find a few more chuckles (including one on Latin!). I fancy you might like 'Country Justice'.

I still haven't got to this month's Lighten Up Online, Steve, but found this one in the "Best" poems. Love it! You really need to do a book of these funny ones. I know you can write the serious as well, but you so shine in humour. Hilarious (I just typed hiliarous, which would be a nice word for the crazy poem), and I don't doubt these wide-eyed innocents could do such a thing. I am scared of anything larger than a sheep. The way those heads turn as you walk across a field... I shall trust them even less now.
So, when the book comes out, let me know and I shall be ordering copies for presents.

Thanks, Sally.
Lighten Up is only quarterly apparently so next one won't be out till December, but, yes, this is the piece.
Yesterday, my wife pointed out to me a newspaper article about a farm worker who died in an effluent pond - kinda spooky and scary since my latest poem is about the end of the world!!
Speaking of best poems - you have a stranglehold on the top 20 so it should obviously be me waiting for your book to come out.

Mischievous, funny, creative work. Loved it all, the rhyme, the wink and even the tragedy. Nothing to critique. I'm looking for more from you.

Thanks for the review and the six stars. I am a little curious how you found this piece as it has been off the listings for some time.
Anyway, welcome to FanStory. Lots more silly stuff in my portfolio if you want to peek in there - for instance you may like Country Justice, Murphy's Bar or The Coat-Tail Ghost - all funny story-poems.

Thank you, and welcome to FanStory!
Now I'm wondering how you stumbled across this poem since it's been off the listings for a while....
Anyway, if you enjoyed that, you might find a few others in my portfolio that would raise a chuckle e.g. Country Justice, Bathroom Incident, Coat-tail Ghost...

Oh yes kiwisteveh. I can see why this is the winner. Not a wasted word there and easy to read. Has a lovely flow too. A wonderful clever story. I like the way the two cows have the last laugh. It put a smile on my face. Cheers, Diane.
This rating was supposed to be five stars. Don't know why sometimes it flips to the previous rating that I click on. It's changed to five now. Hope it stays there. Cheer, Diane.

Thanks, Dianne - for some reason I have the ability to write silly poems about nonsensical topics - you will find plenty more in my portfolio. All I need now is a way to turn that talent into cold hard cash and I'll finally be able to retire!

what a hilarious poem - I love it (being a farmers wife myself), excellent in every perspective, the images this creates are fantastic. Faultless

Thank you so much for the great review and the six stars - glad you enjoyed this piece of silliness. I grew up on a dairy farm and find myself living next door to one again...

Excellent job with this...dare I say it has a good flow?
One little pick -Jesse, black and white, would be bi-colored...mono means one like in monologue.
Great job, excellent entry. :) Carrie

Thanks, Carrie - could have used that pun!
Re monochromatic - I was kinda waiting for someone to pick me up on it, as I know literally it means one colour. However, in practice monochrome almost always means black and white e.g. in computer and printer technology - no good having one colour without a background colour, you'd just be looking at a blank picture - or as nome nitpickers will tell you, white is not a colour; it's the absence of all colour.
Thanks again - glad you enjoyed.
