Nice work using the pen instead of, or should I say in place of the tongue.
I must admit, when first I read the title I didn't know quite what to expect. But the tongue in its many roles is what I got.

My favorite part is:

It carries the power
To heal with its
Careful words spoken
Gently upon hurting ears.

I like the gentle healing wods, they exemplify perfectly, that of which they speak.

Thanks for sharing.

Sincerely

Will

Your tongue has spoken a powerful free verse message that is as old as time. The words blend nicely from verse to verse and the presentation is striking. Nice work.

As usual I can relate to this. The tongue is a powerful tool that God has given us. Many times we use it for the wrongs reasons. Many use it to destroy or to discourage instead of using it to uplift and encourage. The end was my favorite for it said Instead of its power controlling us. Thank you as always.

This one is great and delivers a very powerful message. So true it is that tongue just takes off on us and yes sometimes we say something to someone we care deeply for that will hurt for a lifetime. Once said no I'm sorries can take it back. Couple of fixes for you

With a one soft word (With one soft word)
It can turn away wrath
When we choose
to exercise it.

If we did, we
Would carry the power
Instead of it?s power (Instead of its power)
Controlling us.

Very well stated truth. Such power in such a small package. I love the layout and flow of this poem. Your thoughts are very clearly state and I found it very easy to stay in the flow of the poem.

This is a really insightful and lovely poem. You capture a common insight in a pleasing but witty manner. Sometimes truths told in gentle words can have so much more impact.

A very profound and thought-provoking piece. It was masterfully done, powerful imagery makes the reader truly ponder the power of the tongue. If only we could all use ours as eloquently as you have today. Great job.

Haha, very nice! I missed the title before reading it, so by the end I was really thinking hard as to just what it might be. When I saw the title though, that made it all the better! Great job!

I DON'T DO POETRY, JUST COMIC VERSE, BUT YOUR STYLE SEEMS VERY PROFESSIONAL TO ME. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
