Cor. Sounds terrific to me! Wish we had it over here in boring old England. We've got to wait till Christmas for celebrations!
Your author notes were very useful. I've always heard of Thanksgiving but never really knew the significance of it before.
Lovely rhyme scheme and great rhythm. Really put me in the party mood. But alas ... no party for me ... I must write, write, write!

Thanks for taking time away from all that writing to read something of mine. I'm glad you liked it. You are doiing a wonderful job on your own story.

Your poem is the best holiday poem I have read on this site. It flowed beautifully and I could tell it was a free verse and you didn't have to try hard to make sense. Great job!

Thank you so much for reviewing and the nice comments. Actually this one is not considered Free Verse. Free verse is where there is no rhyme or rhythm pattern.

Beth I love this poem. It is rich with family and food and fellowship as well as thankfulness. My husband preached a message on being thankful for all things today. I am writing a poem to post from his message it is a surprise to him and a tribute of thanks to God also. Hope you and your family have as beautiful a time as the one in your poem. Blessings and thanks friend for your lovely sharing. Queenise

You're welcome friend. Have been a christian for twenty five years. A preacher's wife for twenty. It is an interesting and rewarding, and blessed life that we share. I'm humbled and thankful for every moment. Blessings. Queenise

I love this poem. It certainly sets the tone for next week's big feast and the gathering of family and friends. It helps get me in the mood as we prepare to enjoy our T-day in NYC with our daughter.....and SHE is doing all of the cooking. YAY. Thanks for writing a beautiful poem. There is no need for improvement. M

I wish I could borrow your daughter. All the cooking falls on me and I have at least 14 to serve. I'm so glad you liked this poem. I really appreciate the review.

Great rhythm and flow to this tribute to your American Thanksgiving. Well done Beth from north of the border. Can Christmas be far behind?

This is a wonderful Thanksgiving piece. It explained our tradition very well. In the kitchen is my favorite place to be on that day.

Thank you for the review and you nice comments. The Kitchen is definitely where I'll be on that day. It will be a bit of work. I'll have at least 14 guests.
