One of my degrees is in economics. You don't see the wisdom in spending trillions? (That's a thousand billion!) Neither do I. Imagine if individuals lived like that? Oh yeah. Some do--they end up in bankruptcy court.

you could not be any more right than you are in this piece of poetry. As Clinton said "there is a government within the government, and I have no control over it " 1998... only through awakening the people like ourselves may we have a chance to fight

I am not a political person, but I admire Obama, as well as Lincoln and JF Kennedy. But I like your cry, "Who cares, we are all Americans! Passion and force in your voice.

absolutely one hundred percent right on. I agree with the sentiment in this well written verse. This is the most wasteful nation of the face of the Earth and the ones that control our fate have more of greed and arrogance in mind than the the needs and wants of the majority of this land. This was my pleasure to have read and reviewed this well written verse... John

Dear Sixteezkid,
A most thought provoaking piece, and very very true.
My parents had the attitude in the 1960s never to have credit, save and then buy. Of course societry has changed this is not how we live our lives these days....however their way, was the correct way.
I am visiting my friends for 2 weeks in Holland, however like the dollor the pound is in big trouble, I know it will not go along way againts the euro.
So many high street shops are boarded up here in the UK , I dont remeber anything like this...such a worry.
Lets hope there is away out and thank you again for the thought provoaking piece.
Happy easter by the way.
Kind regards
Steve

A plea for action that is already too late. Any corporation that did business as our congress is doing would be bankrupt and its officers in prison.

A big Amen to that. I am in disbelief that I may live to see the end of this once-great nation. Geo-politically speaking, our government is also CLUELESS when it comes to realizing the true agenda of other nations and thinking we can sit across a table and have tea and "chat" with them. We have becomes a slave of the U.N. and other countries hidden agendas. I'm embarrassed. Sue

Organized Crime no longer refers to The Mafia. It has a new organization, Congress.
Comment from Poetic Friend
Sue,
Boy, this poem speaks of truth. In this time of crisis, the county needs to pull together, Republicans and Democrats alike.
As usual, you conveyed your message in perfect execution and eloquence.
I find it difficult to believe that someone would take an arguentative tone with your work.

A voice in the wilderness, but so
nice to hear. You have set up your
rant beautifully with the art work
you have chosen.
But this is a writing forum, and
you have written an interesting,
a topical poem with clever rhymes
that is very well crafted and shows
off you talent.
Well done

I applaud you Sue for sharing your opinions and being confident enough to do just that. I am not very politically educated as far as our government. I am just a working Joe who is trying so hard to raise a family. I know we are in trouble as a country. I think you poem summed it up nicely and unfortunately you speak what I believe the truth. Great job and keep writing. Your opinion is yours to share and you go girl!!!

Good for you girl! I hear you and I'm worried too. I don't know as much as you do but I'll be looking to you for the truth from now on. I love the line, :"Just say no and take a stand." Good job. Keep up the good work. They didn't like my poem about the artists role in life either. Who cares? Make a stand.

I'm very upset about not only our economic situation, but the health of our Republic. It is very ill, to say the least. The only thing I can personally do for myself is prepare for harsh inflation. I'm going to the "Tea Party" in Chicago to protest all the spending on Tax Day. Least I can do. Thanks much for your great review. Sue
