I am glad that Gene and Pierre didn't give up and that in the end they showed the other elves that they were as worthy as any of them. Another delightful Christmas story, Carol, I enjoyed reading it.

I am sorry but this seems too advanced a concept for children to read and comprehend. It is too long as well and uses too much space to say what could be said in a shortened storyline. Don't get me wrong, it is entertaining and educational but I skimmed through to the end to see where it was going to end up and was glad I didn't use up my eyesight on unnecessary words. My eyesight is poor and I have trouble reading long drawn-out stories that could be as easily shortened.
The idea is top-notch but the length is too long.

Good morning, Jesse.... Sorry the story wasn't to your liking, but then I guess that's why we have so many authors so we can have choices on what we read and enjoy. No one likes everything! The story wasn't meant for just children and the idea came because I have a disabled son who was never "part" of the normal lives of other children. I wanted to show that regardless he has worth too. Thanks for reading and leaving a review. I appreciate it. Have a Merry Christmas!

I apologize. I thought I was giving helpful criticism but I offended you and I am sorry, I should have just passed it by.

No of course not, Jesse. I am not offended. We all are entitled to our thoughts on the stories and I appreciate knowing that you, and others, might not envision the story the same as I did. Please, never worry about speaking from the heart. No apologizes necessary.

Wow... I always felt bad for the rejected toys on the Island of misfit toys. Way to make a statement that "different" does not mean "useless."

Not knew there is such pressure and stress on the elves due to production levels?

Santa better recruit! (Or Amazon will put the North Pole out of business!)

This is a good story and the two with physical problems proved they could be helpful. Maybe I'm too tired from making Christmas goodies to fully appreciate your story. It seems familiar. Did you post it last year?

Love the message here, that everyone has a place and is to be valued. Those with disabilities can still contribute by way of the abilitiies they still have. None should bre judged and rejected for what they cannot DO: all are to be valued for simply who they are. Well done.

Another delightful story, Carol, this time with a strong message of inclusivity, reminding us that everyone has a place in life and never needs to be cast aside or made redundant. Gene and Pierre proved themselves to be little miracle workers who came to the rescue during a crisis in the workshop and ensured that the Christmas toy quota would be fulfilled. Well done, Carol! Warm wishes Debbie

This story reminds me of a story I heard long ago, and particularly in Corinthians that speaks of every little thing fits into a body, the little toe, the appendix, all play a role in a completely healthy, without them the body is incomplete, but yes, all are important and useful to God, if not He will make sure they are, well done, blessings Roy

I am cheering for Gene and Pierre. Yes, everybody has an important role in God's eyes, and we should never forget that. Thank you for sharing this wonderfully written Christmas story with us.

The next day in the workshop, the tension was high. (The following day)

"The elves raised their mugs of cocoa in a toast. Gene and Pierre exchanged proud glances," knowing they'd spiked the sweet chocolate drinks with a little kick-a-poo-joy-juice called whiskey.
Thanks for sharing.

Great story, with a good message: Everyone has a place. Yes, not only toys, but people are often cast aside as useless. I love that the sidelined misfits become heroes of Christmas. Nicely done. Blessings & merry Christmas! Carol
