Good strong scene of Oliver's duplicity as he locks Danielle in with an unconscious Collum. He is betraying his guilt, possibly of forcing Danielle's brother to plead guilty to their parents' murder. Oliver obviously does not like people who think for themselves.

Oh my gosh, Jacob!!! What the heck? I had a feeling they were going to trap her as soon as they headed for the hidden door. I wanted to scream at her to stop. What happened???? I know, no comments from you. I'll have to wait, and that won't be easy.
Take care,
Rhonda

You have me on the edge of my seat, my friend. For once, you have slowed down on posting, and now I want you to hurry up, lol.
Love them surprises!!!

There's no telling what Oliver is up to. And now this! What a shock! You skilfully upped the tension with this latest development and then ending your chapter on an absolute cliff-hanger! Well done, Jacob! Clearly and dramatically conveyed. Take care Debbie

I had to go back and reread and make sure Danielle had her phone. It's in her pocket, but will she have service in the basement. I do hope she can contact Max or maybe the police, what is Sarah who questioned her. They need help getting out of there. I wonder would Eve help them???

Jacob,
Things are starting to get weird in this house. What have you done to Danielle and Callum. They need to get out of this house soon. A great chapter. Keep writing I have to see what happens next.

It deserves a six, Jacob! And also, an "I TOLD YOU SO!" LOL
I guess Oliver has found himself in a pickle and has decided Callum and Danielle are snooping around too much. But I could give him credit (which I don't want to do) and say he locked them in there for their own safety. Now, I wait to see where we go from here. Max knows she's there at the farm, and she does have her phone, but I'm not sure it will work in this basement. Great job, my friend.

Your excerpt is gripping and filled with tension, drawing the reader into the unfolding drama. The characters and their emotions are vividly portrayed, making the scene both engaging and suspenseful

This all seems very strange. At first, Oliver seems shook up and frightened and said Callum was injured and then when he locks them together in the basement, he says they will both be fine. I wonder how long they will both be kept prisoners there and why.
